[Day 27]

The last chapter felt a bit short, and it's been a hot minute since I updated, so I hope the length of this chapter makes up for it <3

The moment the princes were safely inside King Xisuma's office with only King Scar accompanying them, the news was shared.

"We've found them," King Xisuma quietly announced from where he stood, leaning over his desk.

"So soon?" Bdubs eagerly asked despite squeezing Doc's hand out to ease his hastily growing nerves.

"All it cost was a good night's rest," his father bitterly joked. "All that's left to do is figure out how to take them out without drawing too much attention and without preventing them from running away."

He could tell the hybrid was reluctant to let go of his hand, but upon doing so approached his father's desk. "A small team of our Stealth-Bots could apprehend them and bring them back for questioning," he suggested, looking at the digital map on the desk.

"I want to go there myself," Bdubs revealed as he stepped forward as well. He ignored the mix of shock and terror on Doc's face as he pushed his argument. "If we're going to take them down I'd like to see it through myself." Thankfully, neither of the kings seemed opposed to the idea.

Doc touched his forearm and he finally gave in to look at him. "I thought you promised to not be so reckless! Face them yourself? You could get hurt!"

"If the idea of me fighting for the sake of our kingdoms worries you so much, why don't you accompany me?" He brightly offered with a smile.

Unfortunately, Doc still didn't seem pleased as he pulled his hand away. When he gave no response, King Xisuma spoke up for him. "Ah, this is my fault; Prince Doc has not received proper combat training. If anything, sending him in would be reckless. Instead, I shall accompany you and we'll still take the stealth team as back up," he explained.

"You should use illusion charms to lower suspicions," Scar suggested, reaching into his coat pocket to pull out a familiar pouch. It was his infamous golden pouch of spells, enchantments, and charms. Curling his finger over the opening, he drew out two orange spells.

"Wait, wait hold on," Doc protested. "With all due respect, I cannot support the notion of Prince Bdubs joining this mission! Father, you I can understand but-"

"Doc," Bdubs sighed with much exasperation, unable to hide his annoyance any longer. "I understand I may not look like it, but I have combat training! I know what I'm capable of!" He took a deep breath as the guilt of shouting quickly set in.

His betrothed took his hand, proper sentences unable to escape his lips. "It's not that- I had- you cou- what-" finally, he exhaled, squeezing his hand. "I'm- I'm sorry, I don't mean to doubt you I'm just- I'm simply- paranoid, is all."

King Xisuma let out a small, sympathetic sigh. "I'm sure we can all understand your paranoia, however, it's best we make our move now in case the BSDC moves and we lose them somehow. So, King Scar, the bots, and I will be waiting near a secret exit. When you two are finished talking, Doc I entrust you to escort him there?" He suggested, tapping something into his forearm panel.

"Yes Father," Doc quietly agreed, bowing his head.

In the comfort of Doc's bedroom, Bdubs began changing into something easier to fight in whilst the hybrid sat on his bed. "Why don't you trust me with this?" He whispered after tugging on a black tee, his back to Doc as well.
