Chapter 6 - Alone Time

(Steve POV)

Come on Cass, get up..

"They have been at this for an hour now." I say to Wanda who surprisingly is still watching what has become a bloody sparring session between Bucky and Cassia.

"They both have things to work out, just give them a bit longer." Wanda says without taking her eyes away from the match.

I clench my fists on my sweats trying to prevent myself from going up there and ending this myself. Cass has bruises forming already on her arms. I can see bruises on her stomach and waist when her loose fitting shirt twirls up with her movements. She has blood coming out the side of her lips. Yet she still smiles over the panting.

Bucky doesn't have as much bruising. But it looks like she might have broken his nose since it's bleeding out everywhere. I thought he would have tapped out after that, but he just got back up. That was twenty minutes ago. 

I'm freaking out. He's the one that said he will go soft on her. This doesn't look soft. 

"COME ON CASS PIN HIM DOWN" I cheer, hoping she will end this before she gets another broken rib. I shift in my seat as I see her mist away confusing Bucky. He turns expecting her to come up behind him but she was smarter. He turned his back on her. She quickly grabs on to his back and tries the choke hold she did on me. I let out a deep breath knowing she will win this soon. 

What I didn't expect was Bucky elbowing her on the side that just recovered from broken ribs, and dropping her to the floor. He straddles her with his metal arm pinning her chest down. They both stay still for a moment panting and staring at each other. When suddenly Cass taps the floor. Bucky wins.

"Well I didn't expect that.." Wanda says as I rush up to check on Cass. 

Bucky gets off of her and sits back on his heals breathing deeply. I help Cass up looking her over to take count of all the bruises. "Bucky, go to Bruce he needs to set your nose back" I tell him a bit too angrily.

"Oh, I can do it" Wanda enthusiastically says making both me and Bucky wince a bit. Bucky is quickly covered in her red magic and I hear him scream in pain and clasp his nose. "You're welcome Bucky" I can hear the smile in her voice. He glares at her and walks off of the boxing ring. 

I help Cass get down hearing her moan in pain. "Why did you let him go so far? You just recovered."

"I haven't had a good sparring session in years. I couldn't help myself" She gives me an excited smile. I cup her jaw and softly brush the blood coming down her chin with my thumb.

She is unbelievable, she looks so soft and delicate but is so strong and determined.

"That was stupid Cass" I whisper to her. She stares at me analyzing my eyes. She smells so sweet. Even through the sweat, she smells of vanilla and summer flowers. 

"Since you broke my nose, I'll leave you alone for a while. You earned it" Bucky breaks through our thoughts, pats me on the back and leaves still clutching his nose using his shirt to hold the blood from dripping down. Wanda follows him throwing a knowing smile towards us. 

My hand slowly moves to the device on Cassias' neck. "I have to turn it back on you know. The team still needs time" She takes in a deep breath and nods. I take out the remote in my pocket. One of many, each Avenger has one. I give her an apologetic look and turn it on.

She tenses so I wrap her in my arms knowing this is slightly painful. "I'm sorry" I whisper into her hair, taking a big breath in. Her thick wavy hair smells like flowers and coconuts. It's intoxicating. I don't want to move away but I know I have to.
