I'M WOKEN UP BY THE sound of Rafe's door slowly creaking open in the middle of the night.
I don't move a muscle trying to focus on my breathing as I hear somebody tiptoe to the edge of the bed where Rafe is sleeping.
"Rafe?" I hear Ward whisper.
"Go to sleep Eve." Rafe mumbles.
"Rafe." Ward shakes him to wake him up fully. I stay still trying not to show Ward that I'm awake.
"I need your help." He whispers and I hear
Rafe get out of bed to follow him outside.

As soon as I hear the front door shut I scramble out of bed and tiptoe to follow them.
Slowly opening the door I crouch down walking through trying to make as little noise possible.

I see Rafe and Ward stood next to his truck but I'm too far away to hear what either of them are speaking about. I watch them as Rafe paces up and down freaking out, Ward trying to calm him down.
He pulls the sheet off of his truck and I adjust my tired eyes to make sure i'm not seeing things. A dead body.
My mouth about touches the ground as I put clasp my hand over it, trying not to make a sound.

They're walking to the top of the pier each holding one end of the body.
I stay where I am watching them, closing my eyes as I try to calm myself down. A couple moments later my eyes shoot open and Rafe is stood in front of me on his own, staring down at me. I jump out of my skin.
"What are you doing here?" He whispers, I can hear the panic in his voice growing.
"I saw you leave and I just wanted to make sure everything was okay." I stutter.
"What did you see, Eve?" He asks me as he inches closer.
"A body." I cry out. And I feel Rafe pull me into a hug.
"Get off of me. I can't live with murderers!" I scream at him, running back into the house and up the stairs.

I run upstairs to Sarah's room and climb into her bed, burying my head into her blanket. It still smells like her.

A couple moments later I hear footsteps outside the door and Rafe steps inside.
"Eve what are you doing in here, we haven't been in here since she-" He whispers walking over to where I'm sat.
I sob into the blanket I'm holding.
"It's okay baby" Rafe whispers into my ear pulling me in close.
"I miss her so much" I cry, allowing my head to bury itself in his chest.
"I know you do baby." He comforts me.
I look up at him.
"You need to tell me what the fuck just happened outside. I can't deal with secrets Rafe." I tell him.

Rafe explains to me and tells me about how the gun he used to kill Sheriff Peterkin was lost.
My heart drops at the thought of Rafe going to prison.
"Oh." I say, trying to hide my worried face.
"I'm gonna fix this." He says, stroking my face with his thumb.
Rafe suddenly jumps up and out of bed, making his way out of the room.
"Where are you going?" I ask him.
He grabs a hold of the door frame, pulling himself backwards to look at me.
"I told you. I'm gonna go fix this." He says, before rushing off.
I hear the sound of his motorbike starting up and him driving off in the distance. I close my eyes and let myself drift off back to sleep, hoping everything sorts it's self out by the time I wake up.

"EVE, BABY." I hear as I'm woken up by Rafe shaking my shoulder slightly.
"Hi." I smile at him, forgetting all about this morning but I suddenly become crashing back down to reality.
He notices my worried eyes and pulls me in for a hug.
"I've sorted it." He says into my ear.

"My dads asked me to go to the bahamas with him to help him, are you gonna be okay?" He tells me.
"Can I not come?" I ask, feeling like a burden to even ask.
"It's a business thing. It's to do with the royal merchant." He explains to me.
"Okay." I answer him, putting on a brave face.
Me and Rafe have spent every day together for the past six months, the thought of him not being there worries me a little.
