𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗘𝗘𝗡
𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙣𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙨.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗛𝗔𝗗 𝗦𝗘𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗗 to roll around quicker then the teens had anticipated, within a half hour that had been back on their long journey towards Charleston.

Aria chewed lightly on the straw, begging the friends to allow her to grab a cup of coffee, these past hours had been completely exhausting for the four of them.

The sky was lit up brightly, clouds shifting as they drove down the highway, pointing out the random signs that had been hung around.

"Wonder where John B and Sarah are right now." JJ blurted, glancing out the window as they had just arrived in Charleston.

What they hadn't know was that they weren't the only ones arriving in Charleston that day either.

The dark haired girl frowned at the mention of the Kook, nodding along as she blew out a breath of air, "I just hope they're okay."

"I'm sure they are." Pope reassured, flashing her a small smile as he drove .

"Are you okay?" Aria whispered, placing a comforting hand on the small of JJ's shoulder as she sensed his discomfort,

He hadn't taken his eyes off the colorful sky, his blue eyes seeming to bore into it as she slowly nodded, "I'm fine."

"Okay." Aria dropped her hand back into her lap, the feeling of sudden rejection striking her chest, "just wanted to make sure."

His face softened as her tone had gotten sad, his head turning to face her as he intertwined their fingers together, "I'm sorry."

"No. It's on me, JJ. I shouldn't have bugged you." She shook her head, keeping her head down as she bit into her bottom lip.

"Don't blame yourself, Ari. It's just with everything going on I've felt the need to isolate myself." He frowned.

"I've felt the same way, J. I just want to be there for you." Aria responses quietly, resting on chin on the tops of her knees as her shoulders slumped.

JJ lifted the corners of his mouth in a smile, the warmth of her love going to straight to his heart as he let his arm drape over her shoulders, "no ones ever cared for me the way that you do."

"You deserve to be taken care of." She tilted her head slightly, flickering her ocean eyes between his, "I hate seeing you upset."

"I'm okay, baby." He told her honestly, nodding along to himself as he played with the dead ends of her hair, "you make everything fade away."

His words brought a cheeky grin to her lips, she leaned up, pressing a small kiss to his dimple, "I love you."

"And I love you." JJ mirrored her smile, pressing his lips to hers.

"Forever?"

"Forever." Their pinkies intertwined in a promise, her head nuzzling into his shoulder as she sighed.

The volume of the radio had been turned up, blaring loudly throughout the car speaks as they sped down the streets, small fits of laughter occasionally breaking out.

This happiness would only last for so long, they had all known that. With John B and Sarah somewhere out there, no source of protection from Ward, or the police.

This was just the calmness before the big storm.
