It has been two weeks since I shut Brittney up, the news spread through the students present in class and it stayed for a week because it's not every day that someone shuts the queen B up. She and her little minions have again disappeared after taking in the news, and I'm anticipating her arrival because I know she will come with a massive plan to torture me and I have to be prepared for that.
Right now I am with Carrie and Jules in a cafe, planning to go on a shopping spree when the school closes for Christmas break while we wait for the boys.
"Hey girls," Blake said before kissing Cassie and Aiden and Jake came after. Dan and Jer and their girlfriends who I still cannot distinguish between, have gone to Los Angeles with their family and will return by Christmas.
"Hey!" Aiden whispered in my ear sending shivers down my body before sitting down on the chair beside me. We had already ordered our food, so it didn't take time for the food to arrive. I devoured my food as soon as it landed on the table, and Aiden chuckled.
"I wonder how many days have passed since you ate?" Cassie jokes.
"The way she is swallowing her food, it seems she hasn't eaten for a month," Jules added. Gosh! They wouldn't leave an opportunity to tease me.
"Let me eat okay... I haven't had my breakfast till now so cut me some slack." I groaned.
"Shut it now, and let us eat peacefully," Jake whined. Apparently he is just as hungry as I am.
We left the cafe shortly after, and now I am walking home with Aiden. We were still walking when my eyes wandered off to the park, and suddenly I wanted to go there so, I dragged Aiden with me there. It wasn't so crowded, only a few kids were playing on the swings, taking turns to ride. I further dragged him near a big tree and sat down beneath it, and motioned him to do the same.
"Why are we here?" asks Aiden.
"I want to spend more time with you and I'll be home alone anyway," I shrugged.
"So that's the real reason; you don't want to be alone at home. And you just thought to be with me to get out of boredom." He said with fake hurt while his hand clutched his heart, and I shoved him down on the grass.
"You know very well, I didn't mean that," I said and he laughed as he pulled me down with him.
We lay there snuggling to each other; looking at the sky. The blue sky, with sun rays spreading very lightly due to the clouds overlapping the sun. I was busy admiring the sky when my phone rang. I sat up and looked at the screen to find it was an unknown number. I usually don't accept calls from unknown numbers, but I felt like taking and keeping it in mind I received the call.
"Hello! Who is calling?" I asked. But there was no reply.
"Hello?" I tried again, this time I could hear some whispers, and finally came a reply.
"Hello Kiara, I'm Lily. How are you bestie?" I took a deep breath hearing the name.
"Why are you calling now?" I asked, getting angry at how she and Jonah ditched me for their parties as soon as I left Florida.
"Um...I know you are mad at us for not talking to you for a long time, but I want to mend our friendship. It doesn't feel good without you." She had the audacity to say that made me so mad that I felt like slapping her across the face.
"Do you by chance mean that I am mad at you for ditching me?" I asked with a sickly sweet voice. I saw Aiden getting up from the ground from my peripheral vision.
"Kia, know that we are very sorry. We didn't plan on ditching you ever, and we feel really guilty for not spending time with you, but it was unintentional. We never did it because we wanted to," She explained and I started fuming.
"You think I'm going to hear your excuse after avoiding me for almost a year. You stopped talking to me and even if you call, you and Jonah would always be in a hurry to end the call. You both have deleted our memories from Instagram, don't think I don't keep tabs on my friend. There isn't a single photo of us, you've made some amazing friends by the way. Stella, seriously? You used to hate her and rant how fake she is to me everyday and now you are best buddies. I'm second guessing our friendship. Do you want to perhaps clear the misunderstanding caused by you?" I asked her, but she didn't reply and I got my answer.
"Well...thanks for clearing it. Bye bestie!" I said in a fake cheerful voice and ended the call.
"You okay?" Aiden asked as he wrapped his arms on my shoulder while I was angry and sad that even after confronting her, she kept on giving excuses instead of accepting it. I don't know what changed after I came here or were they like this from the beginning. I hardly had many friends so, when they volunteered to be my friends, I was very happy, but now I don't know what to think.
"Hey!" Aiden called again, squeezing my shoulder bringing me out of my thoughts.
"I'm okay Aiden. Its just they were my only friends when I lived in Florida, and when I shifted here, they became distant and completely removed me out of their lives and now she called me for forgiveness." I ranted and he hugged me while I shed a few tears.
We stayed there a little longer and then Aiden dropped me home, kissing on my forehead before leaving. I went up to my room and changed into my pajamas and climbed onto bed to take a long nap.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The knocking on my door woke me up from my nap which turned into a three hour sleep, and it's night time by the darkness outside my window. I opened the door to find my mom standing there.
"Sweetie, you slept for so long. Come down, dinner is served." Mom told me before going down and I followed her to the dining table where dad was waiting for us.
"Hey dad!" I greeted him and sat beside him before kissing him on the cheek.
"Hey kiddo! How was your day?" He asked me and I told him it was good. I asked about his work and he started telling me how he got a big project to do. I congratulated him and resumed eating my food.
After dinner, we decided to watch a movie and settled on the couch. Mom and dad on the love seat while I lay down on the couch. I played the movie Three Weeks, Three Kids and went back to my couch. It was fun. We laughed, cried and enjoyed a lot. Dad teased my mom for being so emotional and mom hit his chest lightly and scowled, but dad started tickling her and her scowl turned upside down and soon enough she was full on laughing, I joined dad to tickle mom but they both came onto me and started tickling me. Traitor!
I laughed so hard that I felt tears falling down my cheeks. I went up to my room after that before wishing my parents a good night.
