Chapter 18: The First

I'm terribly sorry for my absence. School, laziness, new games.. It just took over. Also my Grandma passed so, I was a bit depressed but better now. Anyways, hopefully you all enjoy this chapter!

It was close to midnight. Lucy had finally fallen asleep after arriving home. Unfortunately a loud explosion woke her up. Jumping up and looking out the window, smoke could be seen floating around. "What the hell was that!?" She exclaimed opening her window and poking her head out. Just then, Gray and Erza burst through Lucy's door. "Lucy! Get dressed, there's an emergency!" "We'll explain along the way, just hurry!" Erza and Gray explained. Lucy nodded understanding the situation and quickly changed her clothes. Within minutes the three were heading for the area that the smoke was coming from. Before reaching, Erza had a strange feeling that they were being watched but she ignored it for the time being. When they arrived on scene they're eyes met Natsu and Cobra fighting. Again. This time Cobra being overpowered. "Seriously guys?! Again with the fighting!?" Lucy asked, you could hear the annoyance in her voice. "Both of you stop this now! You've already destroyed the area and might--" Before Erza finished laying out her demands, she had to duck to avoid Natsu's flying body. "Listen! He's the one that came out of nowhere and attacked me! I was about to-- Oh shit! Saito!" He then remembered, the house collapsed due to the explosion and they were inside. "We'll find out whats going on with Natsu. You get the boy and his mom!" Lucy said as she took her whip and prepared for a fight. Cobra left it to those three and went and tried to free them.

He tossed and turned all the rubble from the house, calling their names for some response. Finally he got Yoko out who was barely injured, just trapped under. "W-What's... Never mind. Where's Saito?" He looked over to the area of his room and they both began moving the rubble. "Can't you just use your hearing to tell exactly where he is!?" The mother asked frantically as they removed the giant rocks and remains of their house. "He's unconscious, so I can't. But he's gotta be... There!" As Cobra spoke he spotted Saito's head poking out from under what seemed to be the ceiling that fell stop him. After getting it off and letting Yoko get away, Cobra went back to Erza and the others who were still fighting Natsu. "Natsu... He's really going all out." Lucy said as she fell to her knees. Taking a full frontal direct attack must have hurt.

In an instant, a crash of lightning fell from the sky and attacked Natsu. With a loud scream he fell unconscious after it stopped attacking. "Can't believe he was giving you all this trouble Erza." Laxus had just returned and was atop a house. "Laxus? What are you doing here?" Erza asked as she requipped into her normal clothing. "Tying up your loose ends." He smirked as he pointed to the back of him with his thumb, revealing his personal crew, the Thunder God Tribe, holding a man with chains around him. "He's...?" "The one that most likely did something to Natsu." Gray said as he stared at the man. Cobra decided to leave without saying anything. He went to check on Yoko and Saito but was stopped. "Where are you going Erik?" Lucy asked having noticed him leaving. "You all have the situation under control. I'm going to look for Yoko and Saito." He said as he stopped without turning to face them. "You could at least help us interrogate this guy." Laxus replied, but Cobra began walking again. "No need. I already know. He was sent here to kill me, the 'Traitor'. He'll die before saying anything so i'll leave him to you guys." With that he left.

It was now morning at Fairy Tail. The area that the fight took place at wasn't damage that badly, but Yoko and Saito's house we destroyed and would need rebuilding. Cobra had found and taken his two housemates to Fairy Tail to get their injuries treated. Yoko wasn't in a serious condition but Saito was. After about an hour of healing, Wendy concluded that he would be okay after getting more rest. They were in the infirmary sitting beside the bed, and Cobra explained what happened last night.

By the time he finished his explanation, Cobra could hear Gray coming up the stairs and decided to take it outside. "I'll be outside if you need me. I have to take care of something real quick." He said as he held his now bandaged arm while walking to the door. "Alright. Just don't go causing trouble." He nodded and continued. Coming out from their room and walking past two other doors, he met Gray. "I guess you knew I was coming look for you." He just kept giving Gray a cold star, which made him raise his hands in defense. "Hey, relax. I'm not gonna do anything I just wanted to talk to you. And let you know that, I lost." Cobra looked at him with a raised brow. "What are you talking about? Are you trying to make me let my guard down?" "No. I'm talking about Natsu. You already know... I kinda liked the bastard but, he's already turned me down so." He explained while rubbing the back of his head playfully. "What kind of sick trick is this? What the hell are you planning?!" He was now irritated. Not only was he injured and got Saito and Yoko involved, he thought he was being punked.
