A Different Outcome (HIATUS, BEING REWRITTEN)

Chapter 9: Return, 7 Years Later.

Life in prison had become boring and redundant. The same routine everyday without a change. Its been a total of 7 years since the destruction on the Tenrou Island and 7 years since Cobra has seen Natsu, the guy he believed he liked. He would have dreams time to time of him coming back, but only awake at the moment he interacted with him.

A year later after the disappearance of the island, a tournament had started up called the 'Grand Magic Games'. It was around the time for the tournament to begin. Cobra had heard of Fairy Tail entering every year with their remaining members, but always coming in dead last. So hearing that they entered again made no difference to him.

Since Cobra had behaved himself over the years, he was permitted to go into a lounge room. He would still wear his cuffs around his hands, but at least he would be out of the cell for a while. It was now the third day of the Grand Magic Games. He decided to watch to see who was winning this year. There was a Lacrima Vision set up in that lounge room and Cobra had turned it on and adjusted it. It was now a clear viewing of the Games, they were only about to start. He was the only in the lounge room for the time being.

He had a few glasses of water knowing that he would need them. He brought one to head and began drinking from it when he heard the contestants being called. He almost choked when he heard a familiar name. "From Fairy Tail A, we have Erza Scarlet!" He slammed the glass down and looked at the screen, when he saw the red haired mage walking onto the arena, he wondered if his mind was playing tricks. "This... This is.. Impossible.. Was she the only one to make it back or something? Wasn't their island completely destroyed!? What the heck is going on.." He questioned himself before simply disregarding it and watching the monitor. He began to wonder if Natsu had made it back as well, but tried to focus on the event.

The mascot came onto stage as he began explaining the event. Cobra noticed something off about Erza, she hadn't changed in 7 and a half years. She looked exactly the same. "What could be going on.." He began thinking of the different possibilities and came to a conclusion. "They were frozen. That could explain why that other girl from their B Team looks young.. So that must mean they all made it back. This'll be interesting to watch." He said with a grin and continued watching. "All 100 will be my opponents. I exercise my right... To challenge 100." The contestants, audience, even the judges and mascot were shocked by her announcement. Cobra looked at the lacrima with a raised brow, wondering if she lost her head or something. "Erza Scarlet of Fairy Tail A. I challenge 100." A bunch of monsters appeared at once, Cobra stared in disbelief that she would win. "Regardless of how strong she was.. If she really was frozen there shouldn't be a way she could do this... But knowing her, she has something up her sleeve."

Erza was steadily and accurately defeating the monsters as they appeared in a bunch of numbers. Everyone watching were in awe at her display of strength, endurance and tactics that she utilized. Cobra was speechless throughout the battle. She surpassed his expectations. It was now the last monster, the S-Class monster. "That thing is pretty big.. And strong. She used a lot of magic already.. How will she get this one.." Erza got up once again and began her final assault, quickly destroying parts of its body before finally breaking the core and defeating it. "That... That's it!! She's done it! Erza Scarlet of Fairy Tail A has conquered Pandemonium!!! Is this the strength of the Guild once called the strongest seven years ago!?" The announcer said and the crowd went wild. "I shouldn't be so surprised.. Fairy Tail is full of surprises." He was pleased to see the fact that, they returned and were already participating in the tournament. Soon he noticed her teammates running over, congratulating her and crying from happiness. Cobra then noticed a regular pink haired mage and smiled. "As expected. They all made it back safely." He sighed in relief knowing they were fine.

It was now the fourth day of the GMG. Cobra had been watching from the start and heard of the event for the day, 'Naval Battle'. The event had already begun, in fact it was close to ending. Only two of the eight contestants were left. Lucy and Minerva from Sabertooth. "Lucy's got a real challenge here.. From what I've heard and saw last year.. This girl is strong." He noticed Lucy began looking around for something, until she looked at Minerva holding some case. "She stole her keys... Lucy is gonna lose this one.." Minerva began using her magic and beating her, telling her to just give up. Lucy on the other had a strong resolve. She would never give up, no matter how bad the situation was. Minerva just remained still for a few seconds until the timer went out, and the regular point system returned to normal. They were all confused as to why she did so, but were quickly enraged by how she began torturing Lucy. Beating her senseless. She was about to fall out of the sphere but was caught again and continued being beaten.

"That bitch! She was about to lose and brought her back in.. Just to torture her more?" He barely heard what she said after, about teaching them with 'this girls' body. He slammed his fist on the table, causing the few glasses to fall and break. "If only I was there... That bitch would get what's coming to her...!" A few more minutes passed before they stopped the fight, and declared Minerva the winner. She held Lucy by her head and allowed her to fall out the sphere. Just before she fell, she was caught by Natsu & Gray. The others and a few from other guilds ran over to see her condition. Cobra saw as a fight almost broke out between Fairy Tail and Sabertooth. "You all better win this dam tournament. If not I'll beat you all myself." He said clearly irritated at the events.

It was now the time for the Tag Team Battle competition. Cobra watched the first two, they were pretty good, he noted how Kagura was about to finish the Ice Mage, Lyon off easily but time ran out. It was now time for the last match of the day. Sabertooth Vs Fairy Tail.

"Let's see how strong you've gotten, Natsu." He watched the Lacrima keenly to observe the fight. It was a seesaw battle moving in favor of the each team until, Sting & Rogue activated Dragon Force. "Dragon Force... So they can activate by will just like me..." Sting began fighting the two and clearly overwhelmed them. They destroyed the arena in the process and fell underground. Natsu & Gajeel seemed to have lost. His members began giving them motivating speeches. "Hmph.. You can't hear me at all with your poor hearing.. But. You better get up Natsu. Or I'll really pound your head in." At that moment Natsu got up first with Gajeel following. Cobra smirked as he watched and quickly facepalmed when the two began arguing. Natsu even went as far as to push Gajeel in a cart and make roll away. The shocking part was, he challenged the two by himself. "Oh? Either he was playing around this entire match.. Or he's really stupid." Cobra said as he watched them fight, Natsu in turn overwhelm the Twin Dragons.

The fight ended with a one-sided battle of Natsu completely overwhelming the Twin Dragons, even with their combination attack, Natsu easily overpowered it with his own attack and defeated them. Cobra watched as they showed Natsu as the winner and of course, he has a silky victory pose. His clothes were all torn up so the only parr of his upper body being covered was part of his arms. Cobra stared at Natsu, mostly at his muscular body, admiring it before realizing what he was doing. "Tch.. Looks like I was right.. Dammit Natsu."

It was now the final day of the Games. The final event was an all out guild war with everyone team member participating. In this event however, Natsu wasn't participating, which disappointed Cobra. The final competition started and Fairy Tail was already in the lead.

The fighting dragged on until night, after long and hard battles, Fairy Tail came out on top of most of them, only one more contestant remained. Sting from Sabertooth. Fairy Tail hadn't lost any me members but all were pretty exhausted from their previous fights. Despite this, they stand in front of Sting ready to fight. As he prepared to make a move, he suddenly stopped and stared at them, looking as if he was afraid. One could see he forced himself to move, until he fell to his knees surrendering. "Bitch. Looks like you realized.. You couldn't win." Cobra wore a big smirk and clapped as the announcer announced that Fairy Tail won the GMG.

He then left the lounge room, not wanting to see the ending of the Games. But he couldn't shake the feeling something was happening, or about to happen. Why was Natsu not in the final event? He can't see the battle loving hot head giving up his position to that girl. He decided not too think on it too much and returned to his cell.
