Chapter 30: Who I Am

Once again, I disappeared. Not sure what i can say to really pass on how sorry I am, but I truly am. Things have been going on here lately and thus I just... Ignored a lot of stuff. Again, sorry about that. I'm grateful to anyone that continued to read this, and will continue until it ends. Thanks for sticking around! Without further adieu!

With it already being night, Natsu and Gray decided it best to head back. As they arrived at Lucy's place, they were surprised to find Cobra standing outside, waiting. "Cobra? What're you doing here?" Natsu asked, quite surprised and curious to see him here. He figured he'd still be with 'them' since he hadn't seen them for a while. Cobra himself however seemed pretty irritated. "We need to talk, now." "Talk? About what?" "You'll find out. Let's go home." Cobra turned off without another word, heading in the direction of home. Natsu was generally confused, but Gray had already caught on. "Just go flame brain. He's already irritated enough. Don't need keep him waiting." Gray gave him a light shove, in which Natsu reluctantly followed. "Fine fine! I'll see you guys tomorrow then." Natus ran to catch up with Cobra. After a while, they were out of sight. Gray stood there, watching the empty street."He definitely heard our conversation."

It hadn't taken much time for them to arrive at Natsu's place. Happy was already there, asleep. Natsu tried waking him up, but he seemed to be in a real deep sleep. "Poor guy. They must have worked you hard, huh buddy?" Happy mumbled something in-comprehensive and began his light snoring again. Natsu rest him down on the hammock tied to the tree, before addressing Cobra.

"So, what do you wanna talk about, Cobra?" "Cobra huh? So you really are upset." His statement surprised Natsu. "Upset? What you talking about?" Cobra removed his coat and threw it to the side. "Earlier today when the others showed up with Doranbolt, you seemed annoyed. When you left, I could tell you were definitely upset and only when I came looking for you, I heard you talking with that stripper." Natsu realized just what he was talking about now, and sighed. "There's no way to ever keep something a secret from you." "That's right. Nothing hides from these ears of mine." He couldn't place his finger on it, but Natsu could tell something was definitely bother Cobra. The way he spoke, the somewhat angry expression he wore. It was a giveaway.

"So tell me, what are you upset about?" Natsu sighed again, heading into their bedroom. Cobra followed suit. After moving in, Cobra demanded that Natsu have an actual bedroom instead of just sleeping in a tree. After a lot of trouble, they both got a room fixed in. Rather convenient and cosy, Natsu might add.

Natsu stood with his back turned to him, not wanting to face him as he asked the question. "You said you had a boyfriend once before right...?" Cobra's brow twitched before answering. "Yes I did. Why?" "Was it one of them?" "Them?" "As in one of those guys from. Oracion Seis?" Silence filled the room before Cobra loudly kissed his teeth. "So that's it." That annoyed look from earlier returned. "You're jealous, and thinking that I'm gonna do something, don't you?" Natsu hadn't answer. "Answer me Natsu." Nothing. "Natsu!" "Yes! I got jealous, happy?!" He bellowed out his answer. Despite already knowing, it didn't feel any better hearing that Natsu thought he'd try something against him. "So you honestly think I'd try and cheat on you with some Ex?Don't belittle me like that. I wouldn't stoop so low." With his sharp hearing Natsu could easily hear the anger in his tone as he answered. He could also hear not only how angry he was, but how hurt his voice was coming off to him. Finally, he spun around to face Cobra. Hishead hung low as he spoke. "You're right. I shouldn't have gotten jealous and I'm sorry..." Hearing the guy he fell head over heels for apologize in such a manner, Cobra couldn't help but not be angry with him anymore. "Lift your head up." He did as he was told, once his head was up, Cobra walked over and gave him a light kiss on the lips. "There isn't anyone around that could replace you, so don't get so worked up over nothing." Natsu adorned his usual wide grin before kissing and hugging Cobra. "I'm sorry for..Getting jealous, it's just, I didn't know anything about your previous boyfriend so... I guess I got worried he could steal you from me." Cobra scoffed before pulling away. "I didn't want to talk about it, but I guess I'll tell you, just to put you to peace." They both took a seat on the bed, before Cobra finally started.

"We met around two before the Nirvana incident. He was originally some guy I recruited to work under me but, as time passed we developed feelings for each other. Eventually we got together and started dating. We were a thing for a while until he tried to kill us off." "Kill y'all off?" "Yeah. He was a spy from another guild that we were in competition with before joining the Balam Alliance. He only joined with us to sabotage us and get us arrested or killed." Natsu wasn't exactly sure what to say here, so he decided not too say anything. "He basically used me to get rid of me. I was... heartbroken because I really did love him, but once he revealed his true colours. He became nothing to me, other than a punching bag that knew how to run." "Run?" "I tortured him before eventually kicking him out of the Guild." Natsu sweatdropped. "Why am I not surprised you tortured him..." "You know me so well." Despite how sarcastic he sounded, Cobra did mean it. "So,are you satisfied now?" "Yeah. I can understand why you didn't want to talk about it. I'm sorry." 

Cobra lightly scoffed, before getting up again. "Apologizing so much doesn't suit you. How about you strip naked, and apologize to me in a more suitable way, Natsu~" As he called his name, in such a seductive tone, Natsu obediently obliged. "That sounds more like a plan, Erik~"

Little did they know... Happy heard it all."

~The Next Day~

Everyone was preparing to follow through with the plan. They all split up into different groups and went on the move. Cobra, Natsu, Erza, Lucy, Gray and Wendy were the first group that would lead the head-on attack. They were currently travelling in a carriage, making their way to the mountains where the Elemental Wizards dwell. Thanks to Cobra's magic, Natsu's motion sickness was nullified once more. They all engaged in their own conversations, but all quickly turned to Cobra, except Wendy and Natsu, as if this was planned.

"We need to ask you something, Cobra." Both Cobra and Natsu looked at each other, wondering what the questioning would be about this time. It seemed serious. "Our mission and goal is to the defeat the Elemental Wizards, as you know. However...We're not allowed to kill them." A flashback to what happened in the prison cell block years ago flashed through his mind, and immediately he knew what they were talking about. "So you're telling me this, in hopes that I wouldn't let my grudge consume me to kill them all.. Right?" Both Erza and Lucy nodded. A few moments passed by before Cobra released a deep sigh. "No one should ever deserve death. Even if they've done evil, killing someone is never the answer." Natsu gave his two cents, in which the others immediately agreed. "Despite the wrong a person may do, death shouldn't be the answer. Of course, a punishment is in order, but spilling a persons blood dry is not the answer." Erza explained. To Cobra, it sounded more like a lecture from Master Makarov. "You already know, I'm not the same as I used to be." They all sighed a relieved sigh, yet it was too early. "Killing people is not my thing anymore. As much as I hate to say it, this pink haired bastard changed me." Everyone began laughing at his joking insult, all except Natsu.

"Hey! I'm not a-" He was silenced by a sudden kiss by Cobra. The others were surprised by the sudden gesture, especially Wendy whose eyes were covered by Lucy pretty quickly. "Erik..."He was left nearly speechless. "There. So you don't need to worry about me anymore.. And I'm sure I've satisfied their desire of wanting to see us kiss." Cobra returned to his seat, sitting back with his eyes closed and enjoying the ride, calmly waiting for the battle to come.

The remainder of the ride was silent, but silent in a good way. Natsu's mind was put at ease knowing Cobra wouldn't do anything bad anymore, Erza and Lucy got to see them kiss -though it was short-, Wendy couldn't help but think thought they were a cute couple and meant for each other and Gray was just happy that they made up, and everything was on the right track.

As they neared the mountains were the enemy awaited, they mentally prepared themselves for the upcoming epic battle.

A/N: So, I've gotten this one out. I'm going to start working on the next chapter tomorrow, and for the rest of today, gonna skim through all the other chapters and make the necessary grammatical error corrections that I noticed. Thanks for sticking around! Enjoy the chapter!
