YOU THOUGHT IT WOULD BE OKAY.

"can you please bring my secret box to me?" you look at ymir's text again. you knew she was forcing you to get out of the house.

but what was up with her secret box? she was disgusting. how can she ask her sister for help with that kind of stuff?

you open the door as the summer lights were scowling through her room. the blinding lights pierced through your eyes, causing you to squint hard.

the cicadas were singing their songs and the last thing you wanted to do was to walk on the dirt roads.

you had barely been outside for the two years. you were starting to look pale and your eye bags were starting to scare ymir.

you thought it would be okay. but the fact that your dream of being a homebody for the rest of the week before you got ready for a change, was shattered by ymir's selfish dreams.

you walk through the narrow roads. you can hear cars and even trains on the other side of the road. the whistleblowing loud as the women gossiped at the corners of the bustling streets.

they all looked at you. a strange and new woman that they have barely seen. but somehow, she was familiar with the air of the town.

you had been talking people through the window for years.

you knew the lady that sells sweets gives out some to the children that visit her during the night. the man who sells magazines likes to smell the perfume ads.

the men's eyes followed you like a child looking at a new toy. the way your shoulders moved from side to side as you walked.

when you reached the house ymir mentioned, you knocked on the wooden door. a black-haired woman opened the door. she reminded you of someone but you couldn't quite catch who.

well, it was not like you could get mad at her. she just stood there innocently. knowing ymir, she must have done so many things to the poor girl.

her luscious locks of black hair flew in the wind as she covered her blue eyes from the dust sweeping by. "who are-"

"frieda!" ymir wrapped her hands behind the woman. those blue eyes looked away from you. "oh, you're here." she was still in her undergarments, and the people walking by were staring at the two.

it felt like they were judging. "ymir," frieda laughed nervously as she unhooked her arms from her waist. she was getting conscious. and you understood immediately, why she was doing everything she was doing.

the people here didn't like her. or rather the choice of who she wanted to love.

how can people hate that beautiful woman? "come inside," frieda said as she stepped away from the door, trying to hide behind it.
