"Prince Kano doesn't trust us."
I did not particularly care for the luxury the bedroom provided. Having spent my entire life sleeping in a hanging net, as most Broasans do, I crossed my arms at the thought of sleeping on something that didn't sway when you climbed in. The blankets on the bed looked rather thick and warm, and I didn't know how to feel about the abundance of pillows. Thankfully the room had more than one bed, though they were both big enough that sharing wouldn't have been a problem.
Other than beds, the room had a sitting area with couches, a fuzzy rug, and a dining table, all of which looked out to the western sky. I smiled at the darkening sky, though it couldn't silence the doubts and questions that racked my mind.
"Mel, stop worrying." Evan placed his white phonx, Ivar, on the table next to his staff. He took off his white cloak and laid it on the back of a chair. "Kano's inability to trust us is of no concern. We'll do what we can to give them a satisfactory report, and with their gained trust, we'll go kill King Ronam."
"Are we really going to kill the High Nobles?"
"We'll have to."
"How do you suggest we do that?"
He stood there, pondering my question, before pulling me to the couches. Together, we formulated how we would kill them.
