A/N: Fun facts! Basically, I ran out of ideas for the titles and just decided to name it Rumours because, well, the chapter mainly revolves about rumours. And also because out of Sofia Carson's songs this is one of my favourites, and it's coincidental that I happened to write a chapter about rumours :D Hope y'all enjoy the song, think of it as mood music :)))

The dorm room's door trembled in its frame, and Mal glanced at Evie in surprise. "Someone stole your makeup?" Mal attempted to break the ice, but Evie only stormed to her dresser and plopped herself down onto the stool, before she picked up the blusher and began to apply the blusher vigorously. "Hey, hey!" Mal stumbled almost at once, rising from her bunk; that was Evie's favourite piece of makeup. For her to be using it so wastefully would mean the heavens were falling. "E, tell me what's going on." She demanded, when she finally managed to wrench the brush from Evie's hand, and the blue haired girl stared at her, before startling her with a sudden question.

"Am I beautiful, M?"

"Absolutely." The word came out in a single beat, faster than any lie Mal had ever told, "You're the fairest of them all. Fairer than your mother, fairer than Snow White." "Then why did he choose her!?" Evie whispered, and it took Mal several moments to guess who it was, "Erm...is this about Chad?" "I asked him to act as Nick Bottom, Mal. As my lover." Evie was now furiously crushing a pink eyeshadow, "He said no. So I offered for him to play Lysander, but he said no. Then Audrey came, and when she heard Ben was in it, she was all in for Hermia. And then he agreed to act as Lysander." Evie put her hands on her hips, "What have I done wrong, Mal? Why are princes so hard to get?"

"Well..." Mal began uncertainly, "Is this a right time to mention that you shouldn't trust boys whose names are a mix of 'chap' and 'lad'?"

She successfully made Evie laugh, even though it did come with a nudge in the ribs, "Not funny, M."

She sighed. "Look, E," Mal sat down, "You don't need a prince. You are amazing on your own. Look at it, do you see those amazing grades? Look at the mirror," Mal gestured at the full length mirror that opposed them, "I see the fairest of them all. You don't need a prince to make you better, E. You're already the best there is." "I am?" Evie mused, her voice hopeful, "But if I don't look for a prince...who should I look for?" "People who cherish you as you are." Mal squeezed her shoulders gently, "People who see you as the person you make yourself to be, and not who we have been made to be."

Something lit up behind the lens of Evie's eyes, and the blue haired girl shot up at once.

"I'll be back!"

And Mal folded her arms as she chuckled.

"And...off she goes."

...

"Doug!"

Ambushed by Evie was not the ideal way to leave the science lab, but it was a unique one indeed. "Evie?" Doug tried his best to keep his excitement off his face, "What are you doing here?" "I have a favour to ask of you." Evie rocked on feet, the script in her hands, "You do know that I'm organising a play, right? To get extra grades?"

The blank expression said it all, and Evie quickly waved her hands in front of herself awkwardly, "Or, nevermind, nevermind. Basically, I have a role left, and I need someone to fill it, but no one wants to do it because it's not a very appealing role." "Let me see?" He took the script from her, flipping through it briefly, "I'm guessing it's Nick Bottom that has been left empty?" "Yes. Temporary lover of Queen Titania." Evie added, hoping that it would convince him, and he shrugged, closing the script, "Sure, I'll pitch in. When do rehearsals start?"
