Astrid's POV

Hasn't it ever happened to you that you wake up sad because you had the best dream ever, but then you realize that the dream was real?

Hasn't it ever occurred to you that reality is better than dreams?

It indeed happened to me.

On the morning of October 16 I woke up with a huge grin on my face.

To be honest, if I didn't have the roses and the small letters as proof, I would have believed that it was a dream. Actually, even though I had those proofs, I still considered the possibility of it having been a dream.

I pictured Zayn in my head. His perfect everything. His eyes, his hair, his smile. And the best part is that now he was mine and only mine.

I woke up slowly without stopping smiling. Without rush, I stood up and started watching towards the kitchen, where I saw happy Ava and Max making hot cakes.

"I like to put vanilla because so it tastes better" Max was explaining Ava and she listened carefully. I appeared like a wild Pokémon, and as soon as I was seeable, they felt my presence and turned around.

"So see who decided to wake up!" Max smiled and got closer to me to kiss me softly in the cheek and hug me.

"Me!" I responded cheeringly. Dude, life couldn't be this good.

"I see that you're happy" Ava smiled. I then remembered the stupid stuff that I had told her and my expression changed.

"Av, I am SO sorry" I wanted to apologize, I had to.

"No big deal, Tri. You had no idea. I would have thought the same, to be honest" She hugged me "But you have to stop undervaluing yourself. You are a beautiful girl and you should see it. Hell! A One Direction boy is head over heels for you!"

I just nodded while smiling. I was happy that Ava could forgive me that easily. If I had known, I would obviously not have acted like that.

"I'm sorry anyways." I repeated but she shushed me.

"No big deal, you had no idea" She smiled again.

"Hot cakes?" Max asked as he returned to his place in the kitchen.

"Would be an honor." I said jokingly and he made a weird face.

"So, spill it! How did you find the surprise, did you like it? Hell, you did. Max and I were following you through the entire thing" She confessed and I cracked out.

"Yes, I loved it" I kept laughing "But why would you follow me?"

"Zayn gave us exact instructions" She explained "We had to follow you through each post, so that you would go where he wanted you to go. We had to talk to Bill in Starbucks and in the restaurant and hide the clue in the lacrosse field. We had to make sure that you'd get to the lake by sunset and that you responded Zayn's call. It was a huge logistic"

"Oh wow" I felt blessed "Thank you, guys."

I was seriously baffled. I couldn't believe that so many people would have worked for me.

"Actually, everyone helped" Max started talking "The One Direction kids helped with the clues, even Professor Jones was into the plan" Oh my God.

"The clues were actually pretty good." I mentioned.
