'Cause no one ever looked so good

In a dress and it hurts

'Cause I know you won't be mine tonight.

No one ever makes me feel

like you do when you smile.

Baby, tell me how to make it right?

Astrid's POV

Three days. We hadn't talked in three days. I was worried to say the least.

"He's been down" Liam'd told me. "But he doesn't want you to get worried. You'll talk to him soon enough".

Maybe he didn't like me like I liked him. Maybe I had just been a stage.

"Don't be stupid!" Ava had spoken to me "He must have a major problem or something. Be patient and wait"

Life felt stupidly empty without Zayn. The information that people told me got in through one ear and flew through the other one. I couldn't think of anything but him.

Max was utterly preoccupied. He wouldn't spend two seconds in my company without asking how I was. Although I loved him for taking care of me, he sometimes turned to a rather obsessed manner, not letting me keep stuff for myself.

"Is it Zayn, right?" He had asked. "Things will work out soon enough"

I may have been overreacting. Three days weren't as long. Three days weren't a year, but they were hell without Zayn.

Indeed, I hadn't realized how dependent I had grown to be of Zayn.

Those three days hadn't been anything special but a hopeless misery. I didn't even want to go to class. I would stay home in my pj's watching old One Direction videos.

Lame.

On the second day, however, while I was watching "The Breakfast Club" for the 893482th time in the month, a suddenly Facetime call got me out of schedule.

I tried to clean my face and wash the rest of Cheetos out of my teeth quickly, so that she wouldn't suspect how much I had been suffering.

As soon as the call connected, I was faced to a wide grin and a happy expression.

"Hello Tri!" She said cheeringly.

"Hey mom" I responded trying to equal her tone. Who was I kidding to? It was hopeless.

"Are you okay, baby?" Mom asked sweetly and I felt like crying. She knew that something was going on, but I couldn't risk to say something and then that she started hating Zayn.

"I am indeed really worried" I confessed.

"What did he do?" Her tone turned to something way more serious.

"Nothing wrong, it's just that..." I tried to come up with something, but I couldn't. "It is about Zayn, but it's nothing necessarily bad"

"What did he do, Astrid?" She was really serious now, even a bit angry.

"He asked me to spend Christmas with his family and him."

Mom's face was priceless. Her eyes wide open and her jaw on the ground.
