So, just to be clear...
I've heard about Zayn. Everything. I've been following each step of his life for the last week (not stalker at all, I know), and yes, I've listened to I Won't Mind on repeat at least two billion times (and I love it, js) . But, to be honest, I don't want to hear shit about it. I don't want Zayn to get insulted for nonsense, because he doesn't deserve it.
I understand you, it can be hard to accept. I got through a lot of stages. I first went through denial (the last time I wrote, I was on that one) and then that denial turned into complete rage. But then, acceptance happens.
And yeah, you know, shit happens.
Some days ago, I went to a random concert. The guy is called Phillip Phillips and he was the winner of American Idol some seasons ago. Although I wasn't a huge fan of him (i literally only knew two songs), I enjoyed the show.
And you know why?
Because he enjoyed the show.
In the last few months, we've seen a changing Zayn. His attitudes have gotten from totally depressed to where is Zayn to extremely happy on stage. This clearly shows that he wasn't feeling it anymore. He didn't like being part of One Direction anymore. He didn't enjoy making shows anymore.
So what's the point in that?
I won't deny that he probably had a lot of fun back in the days, but maybe he realized that the kind of music that they were doing wasn't the kind that he actually wanted to sing. Maybe he tried hard to cope with all the hard schedules, but maybe, just maybe, he couldn't do it.
Why?
Because he's human.
So, why keep going if you don't enjoy it anymore?
I'm sure that One Direction was a great memory for Zayn, but it was over. He didn't feel that great anymore and he thought that ending it was the best way to remember it the nicest that he could. In the last few days I have had my Twitter TL full of bullshit towards the topic. Some claiming that Zayn didn't care about the fans, some arguing why he left in the middle of the tour and then went to record a demo with Naughty Boy.
Haven't you ever thought that maybe, just maybe, this had been planned for a long while?
Maybe Zayn decided to quit after WWA, but his management didn't let him. He had a contract to follow. Just so you know, the contracts are not as easy to avoid. He may have reached some sort of agreement, in which they told him that if he stayed for the CD and the promo of the tour, they wouldn't press charges against him.
I know, it sounds stupid, and you may feel cheated, but that's how it works.
Management wanted money and they knew that if Zayn left before the tour they may have gotten less, that's why they forced him to stay.
Maybe what Zayn wanted wasn't to stop singing, but it was to stop being in the object of gossip. Let's face it, Zayn has been BY FAR the 1D member that has received more hate. Insults such as "terrorist" or "Osama" are commonly read on his mentions.
Being member of the biggest boy band in the planet meant that he'd be the center of the world. If he went shopping, they'd pap him; if he drank water, they'd sell the bottle online; if he hugged a girl, he would be "cheating" on his fiancé.
Zayn didn't leave us, he's right there, only that in a different form. We have to learn and appreciate our new Zayn, because that's all we'll get. And we should be happy. Although I know that it is hard, we should be. This is what Zayn wanted, so let's just stick to it. Sending hate will not make anything.
