I was laying on my bed looking through Twitter. Crawford was looking through a stack of notebooks I had on the dresser. He picked one up and looked through it.

"What's this?" he asked. I got up and looked in the notebook. Oh no! He got my song notebook! I grabbed it from him. "Its songs," I said. "You can't read them," I added. He frowned. "Why not?" I sighed. "They're personal!" I told him. "Can you sing one pretty please?!" he begged. "Fine!" I cleared my throat.

Center of attention once again
They don't understand
They don't understand
Then they try to tell me who I am
They don't understand
They don't understand
You want a perfect picture to believe in
Then you can't be looking for me then
I don't need to live by your rules, you don't control me
Until you've walked a mile in my shoes, you don't know me
And I know, I know, I know you don't like it
You don't, you don't, you don't know where I've been
It's my life so truth be told
(I see you thinking but there's just one thing clear
You think you know but you don't have no idea
Think you know me but there's more to see my love)
The same arguments time and time again
And you watched them all happen
But they don't understand
Thinkin' you're the reason that it ends
And he won't be back again
But they don't understand, no
You want a perfect picture to believe in
Then you can't be looking for me then
I don't need to live by your rules, you don't control me
Until you've walked a mile in my shoes, you don't know me
And I know, I know, I know you don't like it
You don't, you don't, you don't know where I've been
It's my life so truth be told
You don't know me
The girl you see in photographs is only
A part of the one I am, don't judge me
'Cause that's not reality and all I can be
Is in love with who I'm becoming
(Think you know me but there's more to see my love
You think you know but you don't have no idea)
I don't need to live by your rules, you don't control me
Until you've walked a mile in my shoes, you don't know me
And I know, I know, I know you don't like it
You don't, you don't, you don't know where I've been
It's my life so truth be told
You don't know me
I don't need to live by your rules, you don't control me
Until you've walked a mile in my shoes, you don't know me
And I know, I know, I know you don't like it
You don't, you don't, you don't know where I've been
It's my life so truth be told
(I see you thinking but there's just one thing clear
You think you know but you don't have no idea
Think you know me but there's more to see my love)

I ended and looked at Crawford. "What is it about?" he asked. "To be honest, its about Derek bullying me," I shrugged. "You should really become a singer! You have an amazing voice!" I looked down at my song. "Yeah, that's what I want to be," I said. He smiled and sat next to me on the bed.

He looked down at my lips and started leaning in. He stopped himself. "I'm sorry," he said. I nodded, "Its ok," I hugged him. His phone buzzed. It was a text from his mom. She wants him to go home. I hugged him goodbye and walked him to the door.
