Maya exhaled as she looked at the date on the calendar. She was now 40 weeks pregnant, officially full term, but she had no idea what was going on with her pregnancy. Usually around that time of her pregnancy both her sons were born but Layla still didn't have any indication that she was on her way.
"Mama, what's wrong?" Kayden asked as Maya looked at her son.
Of course Kayden was very protective of Maya through out her pregnancy and now even more since she was due but she also knew that something was going to happen when Layla would be born.
"Nothing, Kade," Maya said.
"Why isn't Layla here?" Kayden asked as Maya suddenly felt a sharp pain.
"Mommy?" Kayden said.
"Go... Ah. Kayden go call Granny," Maya said as she sat down on the bed breathing deeply while her son ran in front.
"Granny! Granny! Mommy need your help," Kayden said.
Amy looked at the four year old unsure what was going on as she saw how Josh came into the house.
"Apparently Maya needs me," Amy said as Josh looked at Kayden running upstairs.
"Maya? Hey, what's wrong?" Josh asked as Maya exhaled.
"It's time. Ah, she's..." Maya said as her water broke.
"Good grieve okay. Let's go," Josh said grabbing her hospital bag as he helped her down stairs.
"Mom, Dad stay with the boys. It's time. Kayden stay here," Josh said as he and Maya slowly went out the door.
"Pappy," Kayden said.
"You're sister is on her way, Kayden," Alan said smiling.
Arriving at the hospital Maya knew that she was going to meet her daughter. That after all these years hoping for a little princess she would finally know what it feels like to have one. As the doctors got Maya ready she looked how Josh lovingly stared at her knowing he was also ready for the baby to come.
"First child?" the nurse asked.
"Third but first daughter. We have 2 sons aged 4 and 1," Maya said.
"They'll be more than happy with a little sister. You're 6 centimeters dilated. Your baby girl will be here soon," she said.
"Thank you," Maya said as she left and Josh sat down next to her.
"It's here. The time is here," Maya said.
"Let's meet baby girl then. I love you," Josh said giving Maya a kiss.
"I love you too."
