Deena smiled and walked to her room, followed by Sam. The blonde girl had already been there, obviously, but this time it felt different. Maybe because it was different. This time, she took her time to look at Deena's room, observing the little things, like the posters in the back, or her small drum set, even some random mixtapes that were laying around. Deena looked at her.
-Sorry about the mess., chuckled Deena nervously.
-No, no. I like it., smiled Sam.
-So, what do you want to do?, asked the brunette.
-I don't know. You were the one inviting me., giggled Sam.
-That is true, yes. Well, how do you feel about playing some Street Fighter?, suggested Deena.
-And beat your ass? I'd love to., nodded the blonde girl.
-Alright. Sit down, I'll be right back., smiled Deena placing two pillows on the floor.
-Thank you., chuckled Sam as she sat down on a pillow.
After a few minutes, Deena showed up with a nintendo console and some games. She then disappeared again and came back with a small TV.
-You know that we could have just went to wherever all of this was., chuckled Sam, watching her girlfriend with a soft smile.
-I know, but I didn't want to make you sit down on a dirty basement floor., shrugged Deena.
-How thoughtful., smiled the blonde girl.
-I know, right?, smirked Deena sitting down after she installed the whole thing.
Sam chuckled and punched her playfully. She grabbed a controller just like Deena, who then started the game.
-CHOOSE YOUR CHARACTER., yelled the game.
-Pretty girls first., smiled Deena.
Sam rolled her eyes, holding a smile back. She quickly chose a character, then looked at Deena.
-Hot girls next., smirked the blonde girl.
Deena looked at her, trying to show that isn't dying inside right that second. She quickly chose her habitual character and started the game. They played for a while, Sam surprisingly winning most of the time.
-Okay, there's no way that you've never played., said Deena as they kept playing.
-I never said that I had never played this., chuckled Sam.
-I guess I assumed it? Man, I'm an idiot., smiled Deena as she looked at Sam.
-K.O!, screamed the game as Sam once again won.
-At least now, you get to be my idiot., chuckled the blonde girl looking at her.
-That's rude. But yes, true.., nodded Deena, not hiding her smile and hitting Sam's shoulder playfully.
Sam faked an "ouch", making both of them giggle. But then it got quiet. Both just staring at each other, lost in their thoughts. Who would make the first move? Sam looked down at Deena's lips, which made the brunette's heart beat harder against her rib cage. She could hear her heartbeat in her ears. Sam looked back into Deena's eyes, so the brunette tried to play it cool and not like she was absolutely dying and freaking out on the inside. She leaned in slightly, looking Sam in the eyes. The blonde girl did the same. As they lips almost met, someone knocked on the door. Sam leaned back, just like Deena. You never know. But then they heard- Josh's voice and Deena groaned out of frustration.
-Deena, did you steal my Nintendo console again?, yelled Josh from the other side of the door.
-It's not stealing when I was the one giving it to you as a gift for christmas!, replied Deena now looking at the door.
-Well, you still need to ask when you take it! It's mine!, said the boy as he opened the door.
He then stood there for a second.
-Oh, you're still here., said Josh with slight embarrassment in his voice as he looked at Sam.
-Hi., chuckled the blonde girl, amused by all of this.
-Uhm, okay. Well, put the console back when you guys are uh done playing, okay?, replied Josh now looking at his sister.
-Yes, I wasn't planning on selling it., sighed Deena.
-Okay. Oh and dad called. He'll be out until late. He said not to wait up. So, the usual. Can we order pizza?, asked the boy.
Deena reached into her pocket and handed him some bills.
-Here. Order three pizzas., said the brunette.
-Oh, no, no. I'm not staying for dinner. Wait. I didn't call my mom. Shit., cursed Sam, making Deena giggle.
Sam looked at her.
-It's not funny, she's probably really mad right now., replied the blonde girl.
-Go call her. I have a phone right here., said Deena, pointed at her phone by her drum set.
The blonde girl nodded, got up and dialed the number. It only rang a few times until her mom picked up.
-Fraser's residence. Hello?, said her mother.
-Hi mom, it's me. I'm sorry for not calling you earlier. I'm at a friend's house, she's helping me with my math homework. You know how little I understand when it comes to those huge equations., explained Sam with a fake sigh at the end.
-What friend?, asked her mother.
-Kate. She's the captain of the cheerleading team., lied the blonde girl.
-Does that mean that you made the team?, asked her mom excitingly.
-Yes, mom. I made the team., replied Sam turning to Deena and Josh, rolling her eyes.
-Okay, well, when will you be home?, wondered her mother.
-In like 2 hours? So, around 6pm?, said Sam hesitantly.
-Okay. Dinner will be on the table when you arrive., replied her mom.
-Sounds good., nodded Sam.
-Goodbye Samantha., said the mother.
-Bye mom., replied the blonde girl, putting the phone down and hanging up.
Deena giggled.
-What?, sighed Sam.
-That was painful to watch., chuckled Deena.
-Just like watching you lose 12 out of 14 games., shrugged the blonde girl, sitting back down on her spot next to Josh.
Josh laughed but then stopped when her sister killed her with her look.
-Okay, so, two pizzas?, asked the brother.
-Yeah, I'm not staying., nodded Sam.
-Alright. Have fun losing, Deena., smirked the boy as he quickly closed the door.
Deena looked at Sam who was smiling softly. Their eyes met once again.
-Can I kiss you?, asked the brunette plainly.
Sam nodded.
Deena leaned in, almost touching her lips when the phone rang. She leaned back and got up, picking up.
-Fucking hell, what?, sighed the brunette.
-Hi ladykiller., said Kate.
