Two weeks past since the conversation with Kate. Of course she agreed to help her with the date and with the planning. But honestly, there wasn't much to plan. Sam didn't know about it yet, even if in those two weeks, they had spent a lot of time together, yet they had not kissed. Deena had tried to kiss her when they were alone in the locker room, yet girls walked in and they stopped immediately. Then there was this one time at Deena's house. That time, it wasn't Josh's fault. Well, not directly. Josh bursted into Deena's room when Sam was about to make her move. He bursted in there because their father had just arrived. Deena had to sneak Sam out of her house.Anyways. It's Friday. Deena usually would drive Kate and Simon to their house and then drive home with Sam, who would spend the afternoon at her house. But she didn't this time. She dropped Kate and Simon off, who were clearly excited for Deena and Sam's date even if they weren't part of it. Of course the one who was the most excited was Deena, who had been waiting so long for it to finally happen. She continued driving, ignoring the winks of her friend who she left behind. Sam frowned as Deena suddenly made a U-turn and drove the opposite direction her the Johnson's house.
-D, what are you doing?, asked the blonde girl.
-You'll see., smiled Deena, too nervous to look at her girlfriend.
-Deena, where are we going?, said Sam now feeling slightly nervous.
-Do you trust me?, asked the brunette looking at Sam.
-Yes. Yes, of course I do., nodded Sam looking back at her with a little smile.
-Okay, well then you're gonna have to wait. It's a surprise., said Deena as she kept driving.
Sam waited patiently, not really knowing what to expect. She kept looking outside, trying to figure out where they were going. Suddenly, the brunette stopped the car in front of an abandoned building. She got out of the car and walked around it, opening Sam's door, waiting for her. Sam was confused but got out of the car.
-Are you going to murder me?, asked the blonde girl as a joke.
-Nah, not yet., chuckled Deena.
Sam rolled her eyes and waited for what's next as she saw her girlfriend grab something from her pocket. A tie?
-I'm gonna use this as a blindfold, okay?, said Deena, looking Sam in the eyes.
-Yeah. Yeah, okay., nodded the blonde girl, trying not to sound or look nervous.
-Trust me., said the brunette as she walked behind Sam and put the tie around her girlfriend's head, covering her eyes.
-I do. I trust you., nodded Sam once Deena was done doing the knot to keep the blindfold in place.
Deena gently grabbed Sam's hand.
-Okay, I'm going to lead you somewhere now, okay?, smiled Deena.
-Yeah, okay., giggled Sam, putting her other hand on Deena's hand.
Deena lead her through the building, making sure she won't fall or get hurt, warning her about every step. Finally, they arrived. Deena let go of Sam's hand.
-Deena?, said Sam nervously.
-I'm here. I'm here. Stay put., replied the brunette.
Sam could hear Deena moving and doing something. She wondered where she was or what was going on. She could hear cars drive past the building. But she could also feel the wind against her cheeks.
-Okay, I'm going to take the blindfold off now. Are you ready?, asked Deena as she walked behind her girlfriend.
-Yes. I'm ready., chuckled Sam, waiting impatiently.
Deena did just that and untied the blindfold, letting it drop to the floor. Sam opened her eyes. A wide smile grew on her face as she looked around. They were on the rooftop of the abandoned place. The view was beautiful. She could see entire Shadyside from there. She could even spot her own house. She smiled and then looked down, seeing a tablecloth on the floor, with some pillows and a basket. There some candles lighted as well and Deena's boombox. She then turned around and looked at her girlfriend.
-I...I wanted to take you on a date, but since we can't, I decided to create our own intimate and private date. This is what I came up with. I know it's not much but-, started Deena as she rambled.
Sam put her hand on Deena's cheek, making her stop. The brunette looked up at her girlfriend.
-I love it. This is the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me., smiled Sam, looking the brunette in the eyes.
Deena smiled shyly.
-Okay, let's eat then. I prepared some food. And by "I", I mean, I made Kate do it for me., chuckled the brunette, trying desperately to look less nervous.
Sam nodded and walked to the tablecloth, sitting on a soft pillow. Deena immediately joined her. She started taking food out of the casket. It was mostly just snacks, except for the brownies that Kate made and the muffins as well. Deena was thankful for Kate's help. And Simon's. He was the one recommending that rooftop. How did he know of it? Now that, no one knows. Deena looked at Sam, since the blonde girl was oddly quiet.
-Are you okay?, asked the brunette.
-Yes, yes. Of course I am. I just...I don't think I've ever liked someone this much., said Sam, her turn being shy.
Deena chuckled.
-Yeah, didn't seem like it at first., said Deena referring to when Sam was kind of a bitch to her.
-I'm sorry. For that, I mean., replied the blonde girl.
-No, don't apologize. I was joking. I like you too. More than anyone. Don't tell Kate though, don't want her to get jealous., said Deena, winking at the end.
Sam rolled her eyes and chuckled. That's when their eyes met. Both had a soft smile, that suddenly disappeared. Their eyes were focused on each other's eyes. Deena's eyes looked down at Sam's lips. The blonde girl obviously noticed it and scooted closer to Deena. The brunette chuckled and leaned in, hoping there wouldn't be any interruption. And there was none. Or was there? Nah. Deena's lips met Sam's as she softly kissed her. Sam smiled into the kiss, the butterflies in her belly trying to break free. She kissed back. Obviously. The kiss was soft and tender. It was intimate. But also new. Deena eventually pulled away. Sam smirked.
-So, I'm your first kiss?, teased the blonde girl.
-Shut up and kiss me again., said Deena leaning back in.
