(EDITED)
I was finally 18! As I walked into the lunchroom, all eyes were on me. I couldn't blame them, though. I wore my hair into a neat ponytail and I wore pink eye shadow, silver eyeliner, ebony mascara, and rosy red lip stick on my face. On my body I wore a baby blue blouse with ruffles, a pair of long skinny jeans, and brown high heeled boots. I caught Jackson's eye, and sparks shot through my body like fireworks. I guess the whole "I'm 18" part isn't so great when it comes to your mate.

As I neared my table, I heard one of Jackson's blonde haired and blue eyed friends whistle at me, causing Jackson to growl deep in his throat. I caught his eye again, the familiar sparks shooting through me, and winked. He blinked in confusion, as if he imagined it.

"Dang, girlfriend, you look fine!", Mia called. I smirked at her, flipping my hair, causing a few boys to gasp. "Oh, Mia, you know I always do.", I replied, taking a seat in next to Macie. She stared at me intently.

"What?", I asked, raising both of my eyebrows.

"Nothing, you just look hot.", Macie replied, smiling as she looked me up and down.

"Uh huh, you're jealous aren't you."

"Am not!"Macie stopped eyeing me and instead narrowed her eyes and looked into mine.

"Come on, admit it."

"Okay, fine, maybe I am."

I let one eyebrow drop and left the other one raised.

"Come on, maybe isn't enough."

"Okay, okay! I'm jealous!" She put her hands in the air in surrender. Satisfied, I turned back to my lunch. Hmm, let's see. Two ham sandwiches and one bottle of water. Yum. I took a sandwich out of the paper bag and bit into it. Mmmmm. Delicious.

"Hey, Elizabeth, give me one!", I heard Jackson call. I turned to face him, instantly regretting it as sparks shot up my spine. "No.", I snapped. I knew he was referring to my sandwiches because he saw me pack two yesterday in the pack house's kitchen.

"Aw, come on.", he compalined.

"Shut up.", I replied, turning away to face my table.

"Fine! But next time you come crawling to me for food, I won't give you any."

I whipped my head around angrily. "Next time?! There was no last time! I would never crawl to you for food!" Jackson looked taken aback from my outburst, but quickly recovered to smirk. I turned my head to face my friends again, my eyes pitch black, I could feel it. I cannot believe we were mates. Why, of all the people, was he my mate?! I didn't want him, he didn't want me... That's it! Yes, I know what I'll do! I'm 18 now. I can reject my mate! I grinned to myself, got up, and made my way to Jackson's table. "Can I talk to you in the hallway?", I asked sweetly, batting my eyelashes and smiling.

"Um, sure.", Jacskon said looking around at his friends.

"Go, dude!", his friend Clyde said."She's hot! Never deny a hot girl!"

I dragged Jackson by the arm, tingles shooting up my hand. As we reached the exit, I kicked it open and shoved Jackson in and closed the door behind us.

"Okay, what?', Jackson asked irritatedly.

I cleared my throat. "I, Elizabeth Moore, hereby reject-"

Jackson's eyes grew wide with realization and fear. "No, please Eliza, don't do it, I really didn't mean it, please."

"Hereby reject Jackson-", I continued, but something very surprising happened next, and I didn't even get to his last name. Jackson leaned in to kiss me, breaking the words off of my lips. My eyes widened. This. Was. Wrong. However I could feel a million fireworks shoot through my body, and I really wanted the kiss to end, but at the same time, I really wanted the kiss to never end. It was like my senses came back to me, because I suddenly pushed him away, leaving him staggering and confused. His senses came back, too, it seemed, for he furrowed his eyebrows at me. "Don't you dare reject me.", he spat."Without you, I will never be the full Alpha of the pack. There might be no Alpha." I looked at him, my eyes narrowed and my heart still beating from our kiss. "Fine.", I spat back."But don't you dare say another foul word to me in front of my friends. It hurts." I turned and walked away quickly, walking back into the luchroom and back to my table.

"What was that about?", Cass asked, blinking at me, clearly confused at my odd mood swing. I know. I go to the hallway happily, I come back rather angry.

"Ask Jackson.", I said, just as Jackson entered the lunchroom.

"Why Jackson?", Mia asked, taking a bite of her burrito."Why not you?"

I sighed."Okay! I was about to reject Jackson, but be kissed me, sending a these tingles through my body and all. So I didn't reject him."

There was an unsettling silence that followed.

"Eh hem! Say something!", I complained, biting into my sandwich.

"Um, was it about being Alpha and all?", Macie asked, raising her eyebrow slightly.

"Yea."

"Then yes, he had a clear point and you did the right thing not to reject him.", Cass said, smiling.

"Why, did he tell you?" I raised a suspicious eyebrow.

"No, we overheard him talking to his dad about it.", Mia replied cooly.

"That's eavesdropping." I take another bite of my sandwich.

"No! We were just walking to our rooms when we heard them chatting!", Macie cried in frustration, slamming her peanut butter and jelly sandwich down and into the table. She looked down at her lost lunch.

"Ooops.", she said.

"Here.", I said, handing Macie my emergency sandwich, which she gladly took and took a big bite. She nodded her thanks and continued to chew hungrily.

"Alright then. You overheard them.", I agreed. I took another big bite of my delicious sandwich. They all looked pleased, Macie looking more pleased with her sandwich than my statement. It used to be my sandwich. And now, I really want it back.

I get up from the table, taking one last bite of my sandwich and throwing away my trash. "Hurry up, gals.", I said."Class is in five." I walked away, acknowledging the hoots from some really hot boys. "Way to go, girl!", a red headed guy called, waving his hand in the air at me. I smiled at him and turned away.

To class I go.

...

...

...

I fell onto my bed, my eye lids threatening to fall off any moment. Cue sigh. As my eyes drooped closed, I realized I couldn't fall asleep. I tossed this way and that, making it seem as if I was having a seizure.

"Whoah, you okay?", Jackson's voice asked and I opened my eyes to stare at him.

"Yes, I'm fine, and have you ever heard if knocking?!", I snapped.

"Um, yea, your door was wide open." He pointed at my door, and sure enough, it was wide open. I groaned and threw my covers over my head. Jackson's footsteps came near me and threw the covers back off my head. "Hey!", I complained, covering my face in hopes of warmth.
Jackson took hold of my hands, making me yelp because of all the tingles in my arm. He pulled them away from my face, and I looked up into his eyes. I could just get lost in them. I realized he hadn't let go of my hands and that we've been staring at each other for 5 minutes. "Erm, is there something you need?", I asked awkwardly, avoiding eye contact.
"Um, listen, I just came here to say that I really don't want you to reject me.", Jackson replied, looking away as his cheeks turned tomato red.
"Ah, your Alpha title is all you care about.", I said flatly, ignoring the hurt coursing through my wolf.
"Um... Kind of..."
"Yea, I thought."
"AndalsoIreallythinkweshouldmatenow."
He said it really fast, but I managed to catch it.
"Excuse me?!", I asked, really alarmed, but there was a sudden joy in my wolf.
Jackson ran a hand through his hair nervously, but didn't try to face me.
"I'll mate with you when you deserve me!", I continued, getting off my bed and stomping to the door. He can have my freaking room, I'm sleeping in my mom's room tonight!
As I made my way down one flight of stairs,
I noticed how Jackson didn't come after me. Yea, he was too embarrassed to face me, but still, I'm his mate. Mate. A distasteful word in my mouth. I made my way down a thin hallway all the way to the end, where a large oak wood door stood. It had been my parents' room before my dad died, and now she lives there alone.
I knocked, leaning against the wall. "Come in!", my mom's sweet voice called and I opened the door to step in. The room was neat, a king bed with velvet red sheets stood in the middle. There were three windows, the largest being in the center of the farthest cream colored wall. On either side of the bed, a hard oak drawer was placed, and in the corner there was a door that led to the bathroom.
"Hey, honey!", my mom said cheerfully, sitting on the bed. She had light brown curls and my bright green eyes. She was beautiful, and her full and perfectly shaped lips matched mine. "Hey, mom, can I sleep in here tonight?", I asked, nervously looking around.
"Sure, hun, what's wrong?"
"Um, I had a few issues, and I just thought it would be safer to sleep here." I sighed, sitting on the bed next to my mom. I know, I sound like a baby, but it was for the best. My friends would try to talk me out of not mating with Jackson. What kind of friends are they?! I know, they're trying to help me and the pack, but I don't want Jackson! I don't want him and I don't want to be his stupid Luna! Why couldn't it be Clara? Okay, yea, I don't want Clara to be in charge of me, but still, why me?
I lay down on dad's old pillow, missing him more than ever. He always had the best advice, and the sad thing is, I'd never hear his advice again. It brought tears to my eyes as I turned away from my mom in order for her to not see me cry. She always thought of me as her strong little girl, I didn't want her to have the wrong impression.
My mind wandered elsewhere. Would I be able to ignore my wolf's desire for Jackson any longer? Or will I give in, mate with him, and become Luna of the pack? It all sounded wrong, very wrong, yet so right...
