*sigh* Best. Birthday. Ever! I got to see my BFF, whom I've never seen in 4 months. Yea, I said it. FOUR MONTHS. I just moved to a new school this year. I totally miss her! Woo! I'm 11! Officially 11. I even got some awesome birthday gifts. Talk about a hello kitty case for my DS. And others, such as TWO $25 iTunes gift cards. Lauren's brother was totally annoying. Smh. -_-

I looked up and down the pack house. I'm home. Finally. But the place looks kind of wrecked. The chairs on the patio were broken or turned upside down. Some glass windows were shattered. "Oh my...", Macie breathed. Her eyes darted from side to side in fear.

"Mace!", a voice called, and I looked up to see Dawson. Macie looked up, her expression no longer fearful, as she looked up into his eyes lovingly. You can guess who was right next to him. That's right. Jackson. I looked up into those brown eyes. They held so much love.

"You're alive!", he exclaimed, relieved.

I laughed. "Of course I'm alive.", I stated. "I escaped right when the alarm rang." it was then that Aidan and Brandon decided to join us, running to greet their mates. I guess you could call it a reunion.

"I was worried!", Jackson said, cupping my face in his large hands. "I thought that would be the end of me!" He kissed me gently, sending sparks to set fire to my lips. I could feel him smile against my lips. I pulled away.

"I'm hungry.", I whined. Jackson chuckled. Hey, it was true! My pups were starving, and so was this big mama! "Okay, okay, go inside, I'll make you some breakfast.", he said, pushing me gently towards the door. I continued to walk without him, entering the pack house and walking towards the kitchen.

"Elizabeth!", a voice shrieked. I looked up, and instantly the feeling of despise crept through my veins. It was Clara, all dressed in expensive and rich clothing. She looked like she was about to kill. "I thought you were dead!", she hissed. "I managed to talk Jackson into making me his Luna since he was so weak."

I gasped. Jackson was that weak?! Then I smiled. "Did he introduce you to the pack?", I asked. Clara looked taken aback. A single drop of sweat trickled down her brow. "N-no...", she answered honestly, looking down at the ground. I grinned. So Jackson just let her be "Luna" and didn't introduce her to the pack.

"Did he mark you?", I asked, grinning from ear to ear now. Just the thought of Jackson marking another made me so damn mad.

"No...", Clara answered again, staring at my visible mark, which had a picture of ocean waves and Jackson's initials, with hatred.

I could to a happy dance right now if Jackson hadn't entered the room. I turned to him, grinning. He wasn't happy that I had met Clara, I could see, but he was a little taken aback by my happiness. "Clara, out.", I commanded in my Luna voice. Good, my Luna voice was still there!

Clara looked grim as she trudged out of the kitchen. I turned to Jackson. Aw, he looked cute when he was taken aback! I couldn't help but plant a little kiss on his lips. "What was that about!", he asked quietly after the kiss. I told him everything that just happened.

During the part where Clara told me that she was Luna, Jackson paled, but when he heard that I had questioned her and gotten some satisfying answers, he looked relieved. Gosh, this boy was something else. He smiled a little.

I frowned. What was with him?! "What's wrong?", I asked.

Jackson shook his head. "Just worrying about a guy named Kane.", he replied.

I gasped. "Kane who?", I questioned.

"Kane Venessa.", he answered.

Kane! I remember him! I used to make fun of his last name, but we were great friends.

*flashback*

"Hey, Venessa!", I giggled. We were back in third grade, still 9 years old.

Kane sighed, but he had a smile on his face. He was handsome, with cherry red hair that spiked in different directions and beautiful electric gray eyes. Every girl drooled over him, even 8-year-old Clara. But only Mia, Macie, Cass, and I were close to him.

"I told you not to call me that.", Kane snapped playfully.

I giggled again. Yes, Kane was a werewolf. Of course he was. How could a hot guy like him not be a werewolf?!

*flashback ended*

And then on that day, Kane was thrown out of the pack house because Jackson's uncle's mate hit on him. Jackson's uncle was our Alpha at the time. Of course, Kane was innocent. But they didn't know that until after Kane was kicked out and probably in another state. So they executed the former uncle. Jackson was unaware of what happened, and to this very day, still isn't.

Tears fell down my face. Kane did say that he was going to get revenge on this pack. Would he really want to hurt me?

Jackson cupped his hands under my chin. "What's wrong?", he asked. "Do you know him? Did he hurt you? I won't let him near you, I promise."

I shook my head. "N-no, he was a great friend of mine.", I said, and I told him the story.

"Now tell me what's your story got to do with Kane.", I demanded.

Jackson sighed. "He is now the leader of the rogues.", he said. "He demanded to see our Luna, you, so he could kill the pups. I think he was unaware that you would be that Luna."

I looked up boldly into Jackson's eyes. "I need to set things straight.", I said. "I need to talk to Kane, he'll know me. Please, just let me go find some rogues."

Jackson shook his head. "No, I won't let you."

"Please, I need to!" I was pretty much begging.

"But I won't let you. Friend or not, he could hurt you."

"He might not! He might think again and rejoin us!"

"Maybe, but he's probably gone insane over the past few years!"

"I need to!"

"I don't want you to risk your life or the pups' lives! I think you should stay here!"

"Well, I don't think so!"

With that, I stormed out of the kitchen. Sure, I was hungry, but that could wait until later. Besides, Cass hides extra food under her bed that she steals from the kitchen.

I knocked on Cass' door after walking up a flight of stairs with this big belly.

"Come in!", Cass called from inside. I turned the knob, which wasn't locked.

I found Cass sitting on the bed, her legs crossed. "Come in, what do you need?", she asked. Her eyes weren't even open!

"Food, please.", I answered. She opened her eyes and studied me for a moment before closing here eyes again. This is what I love about my friends. They don't ask those questions that concerned parents would.

"Go ahead.", she said simply, gesturing to under her bed. I got onto my knees, digging under the bed until I found a tiny box. I pulled it out, pulling off the cover. It was filled with fruit. I grabbed out an apple. I was just too hungry.

Finally I finished up the apple, laying down on the floor with Cass still "meditating" and falling asleep.
