Sand

As soon as I walked out, I began looking for a place where laptops would be kept. Through out the entire security center there were many people on them, monitoring prison cameras and crime ratings, but where did they get them from. I saw a guard blocking another door just a few feet away. I walked slowly up to it, it was cracked open to where I could see inside. It was almost as if they hoarded computers because there were so many in there. But something was off putting. That guard wasn't just going to let me in. Finally, I figured out I had been looking for the wrong thing when a sign said "Officials Access Only" stated. I needed to snatch the uniforms first. What was I thinking?

I immediately turned around and headed the other direction until I stumbled into a laundromat for dirty uniforms. Most of the guards knew that Reckt and Dynam trusted me on  100%. So I don't think they would think anything of it if they saw me walking out with a few uniforms. Four to be exact. One for me, 304, Allice, and Jaquil. I quickly grabbed a few from inside one of the dryers and folded them up and held them under my arm as I walked out of the security center. No one suspected a thing. I think.

I was thinking of heading to Jaquil's cell or maybe the court yard, wherever he would be. But instead, I decided on stopping at Allice's cell to get closer with him. I was a bit surprised to see all three of them in there. Upon walking in, Allice is tied to a chair, duct tape wrapped around his arms, legs, and mouth with his eyes watering up and his face beet red.

"What the hell are you doing to him?" I ask running up and tearing off the duct tape, it ripped off tearing a layer of skin off his lip but not enough to begin bleeding. He tried to scream in agony but Jaquil put his hand over his mouth. Jaquil then wrapped the duct tape back on.

"We asked him nicely to help us out on our escape plan. In which he declined. So now since we can't use him anymore, he knows too much and we've got to get rid of him."

"Are you serious!? We can't kill him!"

"We have to! We can't take the risk of him going to Reckt. Him being a goody goody and all."

"Just, let me talk to him. Please. Give me a few minutes."

I persuaded them Jaquil and 304 to leave the room for a little bit while I convince Allice to keep going along with the plan. Once they left, I took off the duct tape slowly and began.

"Allice, come on man! What do you think you're doing?"

"You never said anything about leaving! This is why you talked to me today. I thought you were trying to be nice but no, you wanted my help to escape the most dangerous prison in the universe. But it's impossible! It's never going to happen. Never in the history of prison breaks!"

"Then help us go down in history!"

That left him speechless. We needed his help, he was the only one who could stop the crime ratings and the cameras. We needed the cameras shut off because we can't let Reckt, Dynam, or any other guard look over the footage of us escaping, we want to leave them clueless. We need to deactivate the crime rating watches because if anyone commits a crime, it alerts the closest authorities. Remember, prison breaks are illegal too. It is a crime. So if we leave them on and we try to get out, Reckt and Dynam would know immediately. I'm surprised he never shut off his when he hacked into all those banks and military bases.

"Please. I know you want out of here. Seriously? You tried to hack your way out of the other prison. Well now you have three other associates working close with you. We can't fail. It's impossible."

"Fine. Do you have the computer?"

"Not yet. After I give Jaquil the uniforms, he can go in there and grab one for you. Then you do your thing with the cameras and the watches, and then we all throw on a uniform and get out of here. Okay?"

"Okay." He said, agreeing to the terms. I let 304 and Jaquil back in and explained to them Allice's agreement. I then brought up the one question I think everyone has been avoiding this entire time. "I don't really want to bring this up, but I think we all have thought it here or there. Guys, let's be honest. We're on a desert planet. There is nothing out there. This prison is the only structure on this entire world, and tonight, we're going to be running through the hot sands of it. Are we looking for anything? Are we even trying to get off this planet? We haven't even thought about that have we? What were going to do out there."

That's when Allice broke in, "We don't even know if we are going to get out."

"Stop being a downer." Jaquil called him. "Logan, when we do get out. We'll do whatever we can to get back to Earth."

"We don't even know what's out there." I told him.

304 answered that question very wisely on his part. "Sand. Sand. And more sand."

"Well duh, but I mean, do you think there's anything alive out there?" I asked the group and they all stared back with curiosity on how I was such a retard it seemed. "I'm serious!" I told them.

"Logan, we don't know. None of us have ever been outside. We get dropped off at the front gates and we come in here. Come to think of it, I don't even think I looked out into the desert when I arrived." Jaquil admitted, he seemed a bit disappointed about it as well. "I missed my last chance of nature when I walked into this place. Seems ridiculous. I tried to look big, bad, and tough, so I looked straight ahead, stared at all the guards and other prisoners, when really, I could've been taking my last breath of fresh air, my last look of a beautiful sight. It sucks."

I tried to comfort him, "Yeah, we all know. This place changes us more than anyone could think. Before I came here, I never would've hurt anyone. But now, in ECO SEC, I've already killed my fair share of prisoners, guards, anybody. But don't worry, we're getting out of here." I grabbed one of the guard uniforms and handed him one. "Now go get that laptop."
