The field was green, with patches of dry grass scattered about. I could feel the wind brush across my face as I ran to the playground. I am king, this is my castle, all I see is my kingdom I thought to myself while ascending the steps of the tower. My father transported my brother and I so we could be active, but our fun would die out soon.
The castle was parallel to a jungle gym which laid a path returning to the castle entrance. I circled around and around pursuing my brother until I finally captured him. Then he would take my place and I his, as predator and prey. We then fled to the swings where I began to soar as high as the trees around me. I felt free and not anchored by the worries of life. Minutes later, our father ralied us back to the car and we returned home. I observed the rabbits sprinting over the grass as I departed from my kingdom.
When in my sanctuary I withdrew from life and into the world of the story I began to read. The turn of the page ever drawing me closer to adventure. But one chapter was enough for me as I pondered the same things I always did: What are those not around me doing? What does my family do at 11:37 p.m.? As a result I listened in on my older brother, the sound of laser blasts and explosions were emitted from his room as my ear met his pale white door. Then I returned to my room, thinking only of the fellowship whom I missed dearly. Do any of them miss my prescence as I do theirs?
