RYAN'S POV
Many times I didn't realize how wonderful it was what my eyes could see and what my brain could understand. I greatly underestimated my vast knowledge of the world of the stars, for the simple reason that for me it was an everyday thing... a real pastime, mixed with a really strong passion.

Above us, our roof was not made of tiles and other materials unknown to me, no, it was made of stars, lots of stars that were absolutely fascinating. They were those "simple" stars that we can see with the naked eye, but they were damn beautiful.

"I just can't understand what you see" his voice brought me back to reality, a reality from which I wanted to stay away for another twenty or thirty minutes. I hated having to admit it because he was him, but in that moment he had ruined everything.

"I don't understand how you can't see the beauty that the stars possess"

"They are just dots that shine and can be seen when it's dark"

"They are not just dots that shine and can be seen when it is dark!"

"So what are they, Einstein, enlighten me"

"Einstein is famous for the relativistic theory of gravitation and-"

"Shh, I don't care, you know" I sighed, but said nothing. I hated it when he did that, shut me up, not only was it rude, but it was, and he knew it, a gesture that almost sent me into a rage.

The stars visible to the naked eye were classified in the second century BC Hipparchus, a Greek astronomer, who divided them according to brightness. It was a system still in use and this was another thing that fascinated me. Scientific and mathematical systems developed over the centuries, completely original if not with some very small modifications which, nevertheless, were still fully valid and in use.

There are about six thousand stars in all, but only two hundred and forty can be seen due to light pollution. If we had been under a clear sky, like the one seen from a mountain, we could have seen the Epsilon Lyrae, a star system in the Lyra constellation about one hundred and sixty-two light-years from Earth.

Stars are mainly composed of hydrogen and helium, with a small percentage of metals. So no, the stars are not and never have been simple points of light or small light bulbs, as he once defined them.

"Aren't you cold? There will be zero degrees out here"

"I have a jacket for a reason"

"I'm gonna go home"

"I thought we slept together"

"Logan and I will play something, a few beers and smoke"

"Okay" in my voice there was a clear sign of disappointment and sadness and what my face expressed was even more intense. He, however, did not notice anything. He gave me a fleeting kiss on the head, taking his things right after and walking away heading to his house. I watched him as he walked away; he lit a cigarette, the smoke and breath, which came out of his mouth in the freezing cold of December, created a smoke effect that was super intense. It seemed like something was on fire, in the same way that something inside me was on fire.

I entered the house after about thirty minutes, thirty minutes spent hoping to get lost in my world and forget everything for a while. Escape from reality... daydreaming.

I placed my jacket inside the wardrobe in the entrance, taking off my boots and immediately went up to my room to put on something warm and comfortable.

I stood out on the balcony with a cup of tea watching the snow slowly fall. From the balcony I could not hear the moans coming from his room.

I just couldn't understand what Andy found in him. Jackson was the baddest, most dishonest, most rude person I had ever known. When I met him by mistake or by chance, I always avoided him. He always and constantly made me feel uncomfortable, even with just a look.
