Sophie Elizebeth Foster has no clue about her past what-so-ever. Her attempts to find out about...
Sophie found herself at a different hideout this time. Lord Zimmerman - if it was his actual name leaped them to the inside of a hideout. It was not like the last one at all. Everything around her was made of sleek black stone. It was elegant but Sophie couldn't help but let her disappointment show.
"Not what you expected?" Lord Zimmerman asked.
"Well... no" Sophie said slowly.
Lord Zimmerman didn't say anything, unpinning his cape.
"It's not like that-" Sophie started hastily. But was interrupted by another man walking into the room.
"Of course it isn't. Would you like it more sparkly? Perhaps a ceramic table? Or a nice silk cushion?" he asked.
Sophie couldn't help but feel intimidated by his presence. She must let this show too because Lord Zimmerman looked at her and then at the man.
"Don't be so hard on her. She came besides her... interesting past with the neverseen"
The man didn't say anything. But Zimmerman seemed used to it though because he continued, "Gisela and Fintan here?"
The man nodded towards one of the walls of the room, making Sophie realize that there were no doors. How did you walk in and out?
Lord Zimmerson seemed to have guessed her question because he chuckled, "You walk straight through it"
"Wait what-" Sophie asked. "I am NOT a phaser"
"Neither of us are. Come on" he ushered her to a wall, giving Sophie no choice but to follow. She sealed her eyes shut and where she should have felt the wall, she felt a cool breeze and a tingling sensation like light leaping. The coolness left as soon as it came, filling her with warmth. She opened her eyes.
"Woah. Is that how phasers feel when they walk through something?" she asked.
"Something like that," Zimmerman answered. Opening a door.
Inside that room was a table, Lady Gisela and Fintan were discussing something and Coral, Katherina were also there, sitting rather uncomfortably.
"Ahh Sophie you're here" Lady Gisela said.
"Are you sure Gisela?" Coral asked, meekly.
"Coral, I told you this before," Lady Gisela said, changing her tone.
Coral looked at Sophie with something that looked a lot like pity.
"Have a seat" she motioned, waving towards the empty seats. Sophie obeyed, taking a seat.
"Sophie," Fintan started, "First of all, it was a good choice you made not to tell anyone but Tam, it will be a lot easier to erase his memoriesnow" he said. How did he know that?
" And how did you know that? Wait, you're going to wash his memories."
"Not us" Gisela said, a little quickly.
"Why wash his memories at all?" Sophie said
"Sophie. If Magnate Leto finds out that you manifested on your own he'll get a little... suspicious" Coral said.
"Oh. Come on!" the man spoke up for the first time, "The poor girl needs answers, which you and definitely not the Black Swan are giving." he said. "If the Black Swan knows you manifested right now, they'll think you're malfunctioning"
Under normal circumstances Sophie would have cringed but she was a little lost on thought. Maybe this man isn't so bad after all!
"Was that that hard?" he asked.
"No" Coral mumbled, clearly Sophie wasn't the only one intimidated by him. In Fact even Katherina, Fintan and Gisela looked intimidated.
"Back to the point, I'm sure you're wondering why we called you here-" Fintan said. But the rest of the sentence was cut short by the room plunging with darkness. Then the room flooded with light, once there was enough light for her to see, Sophie saw that the darkness was seeping into the man's clenched fists.
"Oh I'm sorry-" Sophie started.
"That's exactly why you're here" the man said, "to train"
"Elrond-" Lady Gisela never had the opportunity to complete the sentence.
"You're Elrond" Sophie said with shock, surprise, admiration and excitement, "THE Elrond? The protector of shadows?" Sophie started rambling. Not only could she do some cool shady things if he taught her, she could also get some answers, he seemed like he would give them!
"Yeah?" Elrond said, his face clearly showed that no one was ever that happy to see him.
"And you're going to... train me?" Sophie said.
"Not training" Lady Gisela said, "He is here to help you control your powers only" she added, narrowing her eyes at Elrond. Elrond shrugged.
"So... do you want to train?" Coral asked. "Umm, I mean learn" she said when Gisela narrowed her eyes at her.
"I guess" Sophie said, trying to sound off key.
"Well then" Lady Gisela said, standing up and raising a crystal up.
"If that was all, why did you bring us here?" Katherina asked, annoyed.
"THAT was Fintan's idea" Lady Gisela said.
Within a few moments, only Sophie, Elrond remained in the room.
"Where's Lord Zimmerman?" Sophie asked, trying to break the silence.
Elrond chuckled, "It's Aaron Garcia, Sophie" he said. "Lord Zimmerman is a fake identity"
"Does he have more?" Sophie asked.
"Just because I think you deserve answers doesn't mean I'll go leaking around classified information Neverseen to a member of the black swan" he said.
Sophie was offended and she showed. it
"I'm not exactly wrong am I?" he asked, pointing to her black swan pendant.
"Well.. no" Sophie sighed.
Suddenly a man who looked very similar to Elrond burst in, panting.
"Aaron? What's wrong?" Elrond asked. Wait? This is Lord Zimmerman? And who does he look familiar with? Sophie gasped. Are they-
"Yes we're related" Lord Zimmerman - or Aaron or whoever he is said, "And I am-"
"Lord Zimmerman? I know" Sophie interrupted. "I guess you knew I was going to find out sooner or later," she said to Elrond.
Lord Zimmerman or Aaron seemed to remember what he came in for, "It seems we have a jackpot for protectors of shadows" he said.

I was going to make this super long chapter as I promised but I am having a very busy few weeks. And the work that went into this chapter is immense. Really. I made like 25 drafts, each in completely different scenes and ended up settling for this. So... yeah. I don't think the next update will take as long though. Anyways, any guesses for who the next protector is? I am NOT going to spoil the surprise. But I am warning you, you are to be warned, it might be a little diasappointing? i think? Yeeah.
