Aaron gestured to the wall with his head. And he and Aaron walked through the... wall. Sophie's definitely gonna take a while to get used to that.
Time started to pass by. She looked at the huge vintage clock hung over in the corner, next to a bookshelf which was filled with very ancient looking books. The clock showed... 8:45 pm. Sophie tapped her foot and turned around to sit down on the overstuffed silk couch in the centre. She picked up one of the scrolls sprawn across the ceramic table. She knew it was wrong but she couldn't help herself. What's the worst that could happen anyways from reading a scroll?
The scroll was tied together with a silver satin ribbon, which was held together with a wax seal she'd never seen before. Three roses tied together with a string. The seal was already broken when she checked.
The parchment had a creamy complexion to it. It felt soft, but rough enough for ink to catch onto. The scroll rolled open in her lap. It was written in a fancy and elaborate cursive.
Gisela and Fintan ( Elrond and Aaron too, if you're there),
I'm alive. Obviously. I hope you are too. Actually, strike that, you're all definitely alive, I would have heard otherwise. Anyway, how are things going there? It's not that bad here. I kinda started to like it... after getting used to the piercing pain in my head and of course the headaches! Nasty things those are . I kinda thought the reason you sent me here is very dumb. Still do think so, actually. But anyways, turns out, it wasn't completely pointless after all! Yay. (note the sarcasm)
I know you want to know every single thing so...
I was on my way to the shop where they sell those things that taste kind of like mallowmelt but a lot better when I saw her. She was with two other girls. They were heading to school that morning, both the other girls were thinking about first class. But I couldn't hear the girl's thoughts. I couldn't find out more because the Black Swan agent. Getting into his head was trouble like always. I couldn't get all the info, but it was nothing to do anything about the girl. As you may have guessed, I couldn't get closer than that. But here are the coordinates of the school that I've learnt, which were ever so hard to find.
Sophie brought the scroll closer to her eyes and squinted. She turned it upside down and sideways but she couldn't make out whatever that was written there. So she continued to read.
The girl has curly brown hair that fell just below her shoulders. Her face was small and was v-shaped with almond eyes with a small nose. She has blue eyes, the shade was not visible from a distance. I guess that's enough written description. Here's a picture of her.
(this but with blue eyes)
Sophie could see the picture that was projected onto the parchment. The girl looked entirely elven, from her face and even to eyes. Her own eyes skimmed through the rest of the scroll
That's all the information I could get and can give. I hope this helped you guys with whatever you were planning. With that being said (or written), I assume that means I have to come back to the lost cities. To be honest, I don't mind staying here for a few more weeks. You can do all the boring stuff till I return.
Oh and by the way here's to Coral, Kath ( which Sophie assumed was short for Katherina), Ignis (which was probably Ruy), and *insert sigh* that moldy telepath too. Yes. That's you Gethen.
Hey Guys! How ya doing!? I'm fine and did you like the little gift I sent you? I can practically hear Gisela growling and Fintan smirking at her while Elrond and Aaron are cracking up. I am getting every single detail out of you guys when I return. And keep your eyes to the ground for another one. Surely you can't expect me to stop my streak now. Anyway, how's training going for you? I can actually hear your groans right now. Wait. Those actually are groans.
The ink was smeared off the edge like the pen or quill - judging by the paper and the texture - was dragged when the writer stood up.
"Whose groans" Sophie asked. She hadn't realized she said that out loud until she got an answer.
"Exactly what I asked. And I don't think you should be going through those" someone said from behind her.
Sophie jumped, sending the scroll tumbling to the ground.
She turned around as the mystery figure chuckled. She turned around to find Coral and Katherina.
"Oh. Hi" Sophie said, greeting them like old friends. So? It's true that they were from a rebel group who tried to kill her multiple times. And that she didn't know them that well. But she fit right in with them (not with the whole plotting against the lost cities part).
"By the way, did you find out whose groans those are?" she asked, genuinely curious. "Was it serious?"
Coral shook her head opened her mouth to say something but another figure barged through the wall.
"Emergency meeting at Mysterium" Gethen panted.
"What happe-" Katherina tried to ask but Gethen already held up a crystal and whisked them away to mysterium.
Okay. Hey. *insert awkward wave*. Am I really sorry that I haven't updated for very long? Yes. Yes I am. Will I give I give an excuse about school draining me out? No. Even though it's true. Is the letter going to play a role in the story later on? Yes. Yes it will. Can you expect an update very soon? Yes.
And I'm starting another KOTLC fanfic! It'll probably be up in a week or two.
With that being said. I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter and have/had a nice day- Emma
