3 Weeks Later - The Men's Room, Snow's Mansion, The Biggest Party of the Year

I rubbed my neck and glared at him through the mirror. "You don't have to hover over my shoulder for the entire night, I'm not mum".

His sea green eyes looked me up and down and I could tell something was on the Psychos mind. He gave me a pointed look. "Don't talk about her like that".

I scoffed. "Or what?...She's my mother I'll talk about her however I want."

He exhaled. "I know this is hard but after tonight it all be worth it".

I shook my head, turning around to face him. "Right, one night at a Capitol party and then I'll live happily ever after in District Four".

Sarcasm dripped from my tongue as I stared down Dad. We both know I'm coming back here. What was is it again? Oh yeah. Six months and then I'll do what he does.

And if tonight marks anything, then it marks that my victory tour is offically over. It means my six months is up.

Finnick didn't give me any words of comfort. Instead he gripped my shoulder and bent his head slightly lower to mine "The first time breaks you but if you close off your emotions then they can't hurt you. Find a currency and make it work."

I snorted. "Its rape, I can't just make it work".

Finnick shrugged at me before dropping his hand. "You will. No one says no".

I frowned. "Johanna Mason said no".

He paused before he shook his head. "After tonight you won't even think about saying no, ever".

I shook my head with a angry smile. "Why, becuase Snow will threaten the two of you?".

He didn't answer. Simply nodded to the door. "They're waiting for you".

I glared at him and started walking towards the door before I paused. "If Mum wasn't alive, I'd tell him no tonight".

I didn't turn around to see his expression. But hearing a vase shatter as I left the room sure as hell felt good.

Of course, the second I left the room people everywhere were vying for my attention. To the point of grabbing me. I shrugged them off aggressively while sending handsome smiles in return. They don't get to touch me. Not tonight at least. I quickly grabbed the nearest alcoholic thing I could find, only for it be snatched from my hand.  "This for me, Kid?".

I clicked my tongue in annoyance. "Not a kid".

Haymitch nodded although he looked doubtful. "Where's your old man?"

I shrugged. "He's having a tantrum in the bathro-"

The door to the bathroom opened and out walked Dad, a look was shared between them. Dad tusked. "Johanna here yet?".

I felt my head tip in confusion. Something about the converstaion was fishy. Aside from basically just telling father I wouldn't hesitate to kill him off. If it affected him in anyway then he didn't show it. He's totally focussed on what Abernathy is about to say. Like, its life altering information. They seemed to be overally aware of their words. It made me think, despite this being a normal conversation that perhaps its anything but. Haymitch downed the drink and placed it on the nearest tray with a grunt. "Johanna's fashionably late like always".

Finnick clicked his tongue. "She's supposed to be here".

Haymitch rose an eyebrow at him. "And she will be. They'll be here sometime before midnight. Your kid looks like he could use a drink Finnick".
