While on the road we try to wrap Major's head around what's going on. By the fifth time we've repeated the story, he finally seems to get it. "So let me get this straight you're a witch, you're a gemstone, and you're a vampire," he asks.
"Yes now will you calm down," Pandora says.
"Look I'm sorry but this is all new to me okay," he says. "How do you think we feel," I say laughing.
"So what's the plan again?" Pandora asks while skimming through the spellbook her mom gave to her before we left.
"The plan is to drive down to Nevada get through Vegas and get to Boulder City where my sisters live, get accommodated with them, train, and let's hope we don't run into any trouble along the way," I say with a sigh.
"I can't believe you have sisters Ame," Major says while shaking his head.
"Why do you say that," I asked feeling like he's about to say something I don't like.
"You ooze only child syndrome," he says laughing. "I do not," I say in protest.
"Yeah you kind of do," Adonis says and I playfully punch him on his arm.
"How far are we?" I ask trying to change the conversation as I begin to get agitated. I've been noticing that I've become short-tempered these past couple of days which is weird.
"We have ten more hours but we're gonna stop at the next exit for gas," Adonis says never taking his eyes off of the road. I notice how he's barely said much the whole ride he seems to have a lot on his mind and I get the feeling he knows something that he's not telling me.
"Gas?! How about a bed, I'm really tired especially after being told that long story five times," Major says sounding like a five-year-old child.
"There's no need for us to stop to sleep," Adonis says clearly annoyed by Major's whining. "Why the hell not?" Major asks.
"Adonis is driving the whole way there and he's a vampire, and vampires don't sleep," I say. "Well that's great but why does that excuse me from sleeping comfortably," Major says.
The more major whines the more I begin to get pissed off until I finally snap. "Look we'll stop when Adonis is ready to stop! If you whine one time I swear I will kill you! Got it?" I yell. I look at Pandora then back to Major and they both look at me in disbelief.
"Why are you two looking at me like that?" I ask. "Your eyes they changed to the color of Amber," Pandora says and I look at Adonis who looks at me with a worried expression upon his face.
Despite my outburst, we stop at the nearest motel for the night. As Adonis is getting the keys for our rooms Major pushes Pandora and me aside. "Okay just to be clear I'm not staying in a room alone with him am I?" Major asks. "Yes guys with guys and girls with girls," Pandora says.
"He's a vampire for crying out loud," Major says. "I think we all know that Major and trust me your the last human I would drain," Adonis says with a wink. Adonis hands me a key and we all disperse and go to our rooms.
"So how have you been feeling since we left?" I ask Pandora. "Okay I guess, I think I'm just scared," Pandora says. "Scared of what?" I ask with an interesting expression on my face.
"When my mom finally told me that I'm a witch she explained that I come from a line of great witches and wizards and I just don't know if I would be as good as them," she says looking down at her fingers.
"You will be I mean look at me I'm supposed to become this great powerful being but I have no clue what I'm getting myself into," I say with a sigh.
