As Negan lounged on the couch, Rick fast asleep in his arms, there was a soft knock at the front door. Negan groaned, tilting his head back dramatically.

Carl wasn't home, and Rick was passed out, so Negan was left with the duty of answering the door - or dealing with anything else that managed to happen.

As gently as he could, Negan lifted Rick off of him and propped him up against a pillow. While walking to the door, Negan figured it was just someone delivering a package or one of those people handing out fliers for whatever stupid shit was going on. Surprisingly, he met Shane standing on the front porch, standing unusually far back.

Negan's eyes went narrow, standing stiffly. He was ready for whatever bullshit this guy was gonna throw at him.

"Oh?" Shane titled his head slightly, confusion slapped across his face. Negan stood there, not saying a single word, only staring Shane down.

"You uh - live here now?" He asked softly, hesitation in his voice as if he was almost scared to ask. Shane noticed how Negan bit at the inside of his cheek, clenching his jaw tightly. Maybe I shouldn't have come here.

Honestly, this was the last person Negan wanted to see. Not because of what he said to him, no, he could care less about that. He betrayed Rick, after all those years they've been friends - sometimes each other's only friends. On top of that, the fact that this guy had kissed Rick once, then proceeded to beat him up just because he assumed Rick had a boyfriend, which - is now true, but regardless;Negan's eyes turned red after seeing this guy.

"Sure," Negan shrugged his shoulders as if he was taking up an offer, "the hell do you want?"

Shane stood in place, visibly very uncomfortable, but he did get himself into this situation - there's no one to blame but himself. He couldn't seem to make eye contact with Negan anymore, he was afraid to look into his eyes, knowing that they were filled with hate.

"I need to apologize to Rick," He finally looked up at Negan, but very hesitantly, "and you" he quickly added.

Negan's body relaxed a bit more, now that he knew why Shane was here. His look on him was still threatening, though - just in case he was planning to do anything else.

"He's sleeping" Negan sighed, cocking his head in the direction of the couch, where Rick was laying. Negan took a moment and stared at him, forcing down a smile as Rick's mouth drooped open. He's so goddamned cute.

"Could you uh - wake him up? If you don't mind." Shane's voice was soft, still scared to speak, or just scared of Negan. He was a bit taller than Shane and very intimidating, even in his grey sweatpants and green hoodie.

Negan chuckled softly, "I sure as shit mind," he spat, raising his voice, "you can come back another time...or maybe don't - up to you." He drawled, rubbing the tips of his fingers against his beard, and glancing back at Rick;he was awake.

His face was plastered with confusion as he adjusted to the light. Negan looked like a deer in headlights once he saw Rick, he wish he hadn't woken up right now.

"Who's at the door?" He mumbled as he stood up from the couch, standing in place. Negan took a moment to answer, debating on whether he should tell Rick the truth or just make up some lame excuse.

"Come here" Negan motioned with his hand and stepped aside to make room for Rick.

Negan really didn't know how Rick would react. Would he just punch the guy and tell him to fuck off? Well, that's what Negan wants to do, but maybe Rick will be calm about the whole thing - who knows.

Rick stepped up beside Negan, brushing against his shoulder softly, stopping once he saw who was waiting for him.

"Shane?" He said softly, not entirely believing that he was actually here. Hopefully he'll apologize. I miss him.
