"Where wolf's ears are, wolf's teeth are near." - Volsunga Saga

Alison's POV:

My head was still reeling from the events that transpired in the town square, the light that coursed through my veins still lingered. I had awoken a part of me that had been sat dormant for some time. The warm golden glow now faintly dwelled beneath the surface of my skin making me warm to the touch and giving me a sun kissed hue.

Loki's smile never wavered from the moment he caught me on the fountain, large dense crowds now followed us both in toe towards the Palace. People had already begun work; carpenters tearing down wooden boards, stone masons assessing the crumbling walls, merchants all excitedly roaming through the Palace halls speaking of new designs for banners and soft furnishings for the different chambers. Landscapers and gardeners all had attacked the overgrown gardens together. The Palace grounds had not seen this much activity in over two hundred years.

Loki and I had gathered all that remained of the once mighty Asgardian Guard and began to adorn them in their golden armour. The training courtyard was alive with grunts, clashes of steel and roars of passion, there was a long way to go before this modest army was equipped for battle.

There were many rooms within the palace, many people struggled with housing and poverty outside these golden walls. It did not make any sense for all of these resources to lay stagnant when so many needed aid. The Palace was no longer a dwelling for Royals it was a home for all, there shall be no orphan in need of a family, no family in need of a roof over their heads. All who needed help shall receive it, I made sure of it. I found a lovely lady named Fiona who was head of an Orphanage in town, she seemed excited to take on the task.

The beautiful smells produced from the kitchens had people gathering in the grand hall, setting up long tables and stools. Merely hours had gone by and the sun was beginning to set, the Palace had already gone through so much change, I wonder what it would look like within a week.

Loki made his way to the elevated stage where the royals would usually dine, I stopped him in his tracks freezing his steps, which earned me a small chuckle. He peered down to his feet then turned his head to me and smirked.

"I meant it when I said I didn't want to be Queen." I raised my brows at him giving a warning look.

"Well you certainly have the authority element mastered Iver." He joined me to sit with the rest of the people on the long tables, the once sign of power; royal table lay bare and unused.

Dusk looked captivating on Asgard the combination of colours softly faded onto one another pink tones skimming the skyline, the three suns scarcely dipping beneath the horizon. Native birds chirped and flitted from tree to tree seeking a bed for the night. I had claimed a chamber not too far from Frigga's quarters, it was the room most of the visiting princesses used; as it was close to the princes quarters of course. It held a ginormous dressing room complete with multiple stools, vanity's, gowns of all pattens and colours. A chaise lounge stood proud in the centre, surrounded by a curved wall of mirrors, clearly someone wanted to be found in a state of undress.

The main bedroom was decorated with pure white batiste fabric, it bellowed from the ceiling in long wide strips, the breeze from the open balcony made it sway with a calm movement. My inviting large round bed called to me it had been a very taxing day.

Already showered and dressed in a white silk nightgown, barefooted I padded towards the large wide marble balustrade. Placing my palms flat I let the cool contact and breeze fill my senses taking a deep breath.
