"She wants a warrior lover... with wild eyes, strong hands, and a poet's heart." - N.R Hart

The entire journey back from Jotunheim we never spoke a single word, Loki refused to look me in the eye. The tension between us now worryingly explosive, as my feet touched the polished floor of Himinbjorg, Heimdalls expression was enraged on the verge of murderous as he took in Loki's presence.

"I hope to the gods you know what you're doing. Making bargains with frost giants is a dangerous game Alison, they cannot be trusted."

"Has anyone ever attempted to trust them before? Or have they been exiled for millennia? Treated like nightmare to be hidden away." The Asgard I had experienced was not one of equality and purity, and maybe that was the perspective needed to win this war. Over looking, hating and ostracising people because of their race, what planet they were from or the colour of their skin was utterly wrong on every moral level. I would not tolerate such brutality in our future Asgard, if I was to rule after this war on either planet it shall become a safe heaven for all who are in need of it. Even if Laufey proved me wrong it was the spark of hope we needed, a way behind enemy lines. And with the future of Jotunheim at risk I doubt he would go back on our deal.

"That was for Asgard's safety and in the best interest of the nine realms." Grinding his teeth Heimdall presented his feelings on the frost giants very clearly.

"That was for Odins ego alone. In my experience suffocating an entire race for your own benefit just because you deem yourself superior only ends in war and uprisings. Do not lecture me for the good of Asgard, I fear I'm the only one that sees the truth beyond eons of lies and tyranny. You guard the Bifrost and leave me to the rest, if I'm in need of your council I will ask for it." I scolded Heimdall who merely held his tongue and nodded his head in response.

"Now if you don't mind me and wifey here need a little private chat." Loki seized my upper arm and practically dragged me to our tethered horses.

My grey dappled mare shifted at our presence becoming impatient at our lack of saddling up, I calmed her down stroking her snout as Loki released my arm. He was lucky I was being patient; after his childish behaviour on Jotunheim I felt the urge to rip him limb from limb.

"What in the gods name were you thinking?! How could you agree to those terms, my prison sentence I understand that is my burden to bear. But you just threw your whole life away for Jotunheim, for me... why?" he rallied from rage to raw emotion tears building up threatening to soak his face.

"Because it's what is right. My sole purpose is to make sure my people and as many others survive this war, you know how passionate I am about my plight and if a few years on Jotunheim is what is asked of me in sacrifice for that cause then that is what I shall do." I need to be careful with my words, I did not want to bring a child into this world in such perilous times let alone promise my first born to a dead king. If I did have eternity I was far too young to have a child in the first place, call me selfish but I could think of a million reasons not to follow through with the bargain, and for the father to be Loki?! It made my heart sink and that burning feeling in my stomach return. Yet where was this protest coming from? He had shown no resistance in front of Laufey.

"So you have no intention in following through with your word? To marry me and have a child? You just made a bargain to spend eternity by my side. When we hardly even know each other!" I can't decipher if he was distressed at the possibility I may not follow through with the bargain or whether I'd made it in the first place.

"I shall do what is required from me to win this war. You didn't seem to have a problem with my company when your lips were attached to my breasts." Raising an eyebrow at him I heard Heimdall choke a cough out as crimson stained Loki's cheeks.
