14. bruno walker

"Honestly, I don't know why you want to know bout' him." Juno said, zipping her hoodie up.

Takashi shrugged, "I mean, he was forcing you to listen to him, and you seemed uncomfortable so obviously I want to know who he is."

"Bruno Walker. He's around 18 ish, I met him 4 years ago when I started hanging around at the park." Juno said. "I was 11 when I first met him, we were friends for 2 years, then I noticed a change in him."

"What change?" Takashi asked, did Juno notice something in him?

"He started acting weird, at first we were decent enough friends, he would joke and everything, even if he would cross the line sometimes." Juno continued, "When he changed, he started complimenting me more, telling me to watch out for guys and shit like that, I was 13."

"He was 16 at the time, right?" Takashi asked.

Juno nodded, "I started distancing myself from him since then, I would try to avoid going to the park on the days he would or at the times he would. Bruno would stand closer to me, I felt disgusted at the way he looked at me."

Takashi's eyes widened, Juno kept her look down.

"It was like I was his fucking prey." Juno said, "Then last year, around the summer I think, he confessed to me. I wasn't interested in him, I never was."

"He's a jerk." Takashi muttered.

"I've seen him only a few times since then, I tried to ignore him, he set the awkwardness between us." Juno said, "He never asked to call me by my first name and I didn't give him permission either, but he excused himself using the same damn excuse, I was taught different in America."

"He's an asshole, you're 3 years younger than him, and why did he only show interest in you when you were at the age of-" Takashi stopped-

"Development, yeah. It's disgusting, I can't tell him shit though." Juno muttered.

"What?" Takashi asked.

"His mom is my mom's boss." Juno mumbled, "I don't want her to lose her job over a stupid crush that he has on me, so I just keep quiet."

"It's not like he'll actually do anything, he's infatuated with you." Takashi said, "Or obsessed, obsessed is a better word."

Juno nodded, "You're right. I don't think he would actually be able to do anything."

A ocean of people stood before them, a few blocks away from the bookstore. Takashi reached out for Juno's hand, Juno grabbed onto it and Takashi led her through the group.

"What are you looking for exactly?" Takashi asked, "At the store."

Juno shrugged, "I'm not looking for anything in particular, whatever catches my eye."

"What catches your eye?" Takashi asked before letting go of Juno's hand.

"You!" Juno smiled, before walking into the store.

Takashi looked at Juno, she happily walked around the aisles, Juno was going to get Takashi a card to get in. It wasn't an exclusive store, but you needed a card to get in, the place was like a library, except you could either buy or borrow the book.

"She's pretty, isn't she?" A voice said, from behind Takashi.

The lilac haired boy turned to face the guy he hated, Bruno Walker.

"Did you follow us?" Takashi asked, unafraid of the guy who stood before him.

Bruno laughed, "I just happened to be walking in the same direction. You seem awfully close to her. Why?"
