23. a child's joy

There was a peaceful aura to the Mitsuya apartment, Juno was sleeping soundly, in Takashi's arms. Takashi had his arms wrapped around her, her face buried in his chest.

Suddenly, Luna woke up, immediately waking Mana up.

"It's Christmas morning!" Luna exclaimed.

Mana rubbed her eyes and squealed, "Let's go wake them up!"

The two girls quickly ran to the room where Ayumu, Takashi and Juno were sleeping in. Luna was quick to kick Ayumu's leg in order to startle him, she was successful. Ayumu jumped up, his eyes widening.

"Wake up Ayu!" Luna said, joining her sister in waking up Takashi and Juno.

Mana tugged at Juno's shirt, while Luna poked Takashi's shoulder, Juno turned around and was startled by Mana's face. Takashi groaned, knowing this happened every year.

"What time even is it? If it's before 6AM, I'm sending you two back to bed." Takashi muttered.

Iza smiled at his doorway, "It's 7AM."

"Lord." Takashi groaned, "It's so early."

Soon, Ayumu, Luna and Mana were out of the room and sitting in front of the small tree they had in the living room. Ayumu helped unwrap gifts, as Juno and Takashi sat on the couch.

Juno pointed at a box, wrapped in pink and gray paper, "That one is from me and Ayumu."

The girls quickly unwrapped the box, revealing two dolls, resembling the girls. Luna and Mana's jaw dropped at the stunning dolls, they had shiny eyes and silky hair. They obviously took a lot of saving up to afford them, especially in the Mochizuki situation.

"You didn't have to do this." Takashi said, quite embarrassed at the fact they saved up most of their money to get the girls these dolls.

Ayumu smiled, "We kinda did, I wanted to see these joyful faces."

Juno agreed with her brother, "They were definitely worth it."

Takashi pulled Juno closer to him, "Thank you." His warm breath whispered in her ear, "For everything."
