the cherry blossoms are about to bloom,
which marks another year without you.The setting sun glows against the 3rd year student sitting on the edge of the railing, her brown hair flowing in the spring breeze. Her last year of junior high was awaiting her, in a few days she would officially be one.
"Until your ass decided to get home." Juno scolded.
Ayumu scoffed, "I'm 14, I can take care of myself."
"Aren't I your older sister?" Juno chuckled, "I'll always look after you."
"You should start looking out for yourself." Ayumu muttered, "I should be the one looking after you."
"Why?" Juno asked, "Because you're a boy?"
Ayumu scratched his head, "Man I don't know, I think I should be the one taking care of you now, you've done it for me all my life, shouldn't I return the favor?"
"Whoa whoa whoa, this conversation is getting deep, but no. It's my responsibility as a sister." Juno responded.
Ayumu slouched on the couch, "It shouldn't be your responsibility since you were 6."
Juno was only 6 when her parents had divorced, her dad had left their mother for good, although he always sent gifts for Christmas and their birthdays.
Ever since Juno had been in charge of Ayumu, their mom had abandoned them for work and alcohol. Juno had to make sure Ayumu was washed, dressed and fed before school ; she had to make sure that he came home, and above all of that they both had to excel in school.
"You're my younger brother, I couldn't just leave you alone." Juno muttered.
"Juno, you gave up your childhood to be my mother, you gave it all up to give it to me." Ayumu said, his eyes looked watery.
"Please don't cry." Juno mumbled.
Ayumu had always been sensitive, Juno had to console him many times.
"Sorry." Ayumu mumbled.
Juno grinned, "You're still the crybaby!" Juno bursted out laughing.
Ayumu looked annoyed, but he ended up laughing as well. He got up and sat down at the bar where they ate their food.
"What's for dinner?" Ayumu asked, Juno opened the fridge.
"Leftover pizza." Juno pointed, "Heat some for yourself, I'm going to my room."
As Juno left the kitchen, Ayumu asked, "Have you eaten?"
"Yeah of course I did, you took too long." Juno jokes.
Ayumu nodded, he continued to heat his own food.
'Another fucking lie.' Juno thought.
Juno walked into her room, she threw herself onto her bed. Takashi Mitsuya could be in the same class as her this year, she couldn't help the feeling of butterflies in her stomach.
"Hey dumbass!" Ayumu asked as he barged into Juno's room, "You think I'm strong enough to join Toman?"
Juno shrugged, "Maybe, you're a decent fighter."
Ayumu flexed his arm jokingly, "Look at these! Of course I can join!"
"Why would you want to join?" Juno asked, she had protected her brother all his life from the beatings of his mother, she didn't understand why he would want to get hurt ON purpose.
Ayumu laid down next to his sister, just like they would when they were younger, "I don't know, they're cool and Takashi is cool."
"Your idol." Juno said.
