Chapter 20

When he headed out Donnie was going in.

"What'd you do man?" he asked him.

"What do you mean?" Jordan asked.

"Jen came out and went to the elevator, very upset. Were you mean to her too?" he asked.

"Hey look you saw what Ana was wearing and why she's here. She can't love Joe enough to be his, but will show up to have sex with him is whorish behavior. I meant it when I said it, but I apologized. As for Jen she wanted me to have sex with her, I said no," Jordan told him.

"Okay, and why did you say no? because of Rochelle?" he asked, "Because you still love Jennifer...."

"Because of Rochelle. I'm her boyfriend, I can't justify having sex with my ex just because she wants some. If Jennifer loved me, she would have supported my career and stayed with me. She walked away from us, not me," he said.

"You two were meant for each other," Donnie said, "That's all I know."

"That's what I used to think until she just told me that I didn't love her enough. It's always about what she didn't get. Not what she should do better. My career took me away from her so she tolerated it. That's not meant for each other," he said.

Donnie didn't know what else to say. When they first got together they were like this incredible power couple. Unstoppable. In love, would do anything for one another. It's like they were the opposite now. Back then he'd be chasing after her to talk to her, and she never would have walked away.

Upstairs, Ana was laying her head on Joe's chest as they lay in bed together. His arm around her, running up and down her back. 

She was trailing her fingers down his chest," Joe," she said softly, her breath brushing his skin.

 "Mmm Baby doll, you ready for more?" he asked looking down at the top of her head. 

" No...we-ell yes I am, but I need to tell you something," she said as she lifted her head and looked down at him.

"Okay, if it's about my sexy ass body, I am fully aware..." he chuckled.

"As sexy as your body is no," she said quietly." I should have told you before but I'm engaged to Michael Davis my------" 

"You're ex!" Joe spit out angrily," the same damn fucker who couldn't satisfy you then!" 

"My boss," Anabella finished," But yes it's the same guy." Joe looked at trying to figure her out. 

" Why the fuck would you want to marry him?" he asked her. 

" Because he wants a wife, a family," she said softly," The things I want and want to be." 

"I bought the house," he said quietly to her," I bought it because I was hoping you'd come back. Move-in with me someday. I still have a lot of your things from when you used to be at my house in California. I don't understand why you'd choose him when you could be with me," he told her, running a hand through her curls.

"Do you want to get married Joseph?" she asked him.

" I don't know, I just know that you're here in bed with me because I'm the one who knows you. I'm the one who can make you cum over and over again. I'm the one who is asking you to come to move in. Take it one step at a time," he said softly. She wished she could say yes to that, but she knew she couldn't...not yet anyway. She needed to figure out what to do about Michael first. If she broke off the engagement she was also sure to lose her job.
