Chapter 24

By Sunday afternoon Anabella and Joe still hadn't spoken to each other. She left the hotel to go to the airport, with him still upset with her. She was upset that he was upset.

She just had to prove to him he was what she wanted. But maybe her not going back and doing as he wanted, maybe that's what would make him happy.

She was sitting in the Uber beside Jennifer and hadn't said a single word about anything as the car headed for the airport.

When they got to the airport, Jen seem almost as down as she did.

Anabella finally decided to talk," Why so sad?" she asked her friend as they got out and got their bags to go check-in for their flights back to Boston.

"This was  a fun weekend but I don't know if it'll continue, I cheated on Seth, and I feel awful about that..." Jen said, "But I feel worse that Jordan still doesn't want me..."

"I'm sorry. Maybe you can talk to Jordan once you get home? Call him, let him know you still want to be with him," she said softly.

"I can try, but on tour with him the more I tried to talk to him he said let's not do that right now, let's just enjoy each other..." Jen shrugged.

"well, he never said never talk about it. just not then," she pointed out. they started through security.

"That's true, ill call him once I'm home, but I need to be honest with Sam..." she said.

"So tell Seth you don't love him or can't be with him, doesn't matter how you word it. Just tell the truth," she said. They started walking towards their gate.

"Yes I can do that... should be easy enough, I mean we were just having sex, and sure we said boyfriend and girlfriend, but we hadn't agreed on exclusivity..." Jen said with a nod.

"Shouldn't be a big problem then," she agreed.

"Right, so we both need to stop stressing, you'll be honest ill be honest and we can both get our men back!" Jen said with a firm smile.

"Well, you did cheat on Michael, and besides I see the way you are around joe, and the way you look at him, you still love him," Jen said, "SO mere observations Ana..."

"You can cheat just to cheat, but yeah Joe and I are talking about getting back together. He wanted me to stay," she said simply

"You should have, he's where your heart lies..." Jen smiled.

"I should at least break it off my engagement to Michael, and figure out what I'm going to do about a job once Michael hears what I say."

"He can't fire you, that's kind of against the law..." Jen said.

"It's his firm. He'll ask me to leave," she said.

"You're very talented at what you do, you'll find something," Jen nodded, as they finally began boarding the plane.

She laughed," At being an assistant? That's hardly anything, mostly paperwork."

"Well, either way, you'll find something..." she giggled.

"Yeah, Just have to put in more applications," she said once they boarded and found their seats.

"Yes, it'll all work out..." Jen agreed.

Once back at work, Anabella went to try and speak with Michael. She walked into his office," Michael we need to talk," she said. " Hey Baby, can it wait?" he asked not looking up from a file," Lots of work today. This case." "No. We need to talk," she said. " So we will talk at home alright?" he asked. " Fine at home," she said not exactly happy.
