Miss You More

Chapter 1

‭~~~~‬2013‭~~~~

"I thought you said you'd be home though‭?" ‬Jennifer asked her boyfriend Jordan over the phone,‭ "‬It was why I took the whole week off of work.‭"

"‬Tour tends to be a bit unpredictable,‭ ‬we had a few shows earlier in the tour that we had to reschedule,‭ ‬remember‭? ‬so we scheduled them for after,‭ ‬which is the week you took off...‭" ‬he said to her.‭

She and Jordan had been together going on four years,‭ ‬but the past year and a half,‭ ‬things have been super busy for them both.‭ ‬She worked at a law firm with crazy hours,‭ ‬while he, of course,‭ ‬was touring the world,‭ ‬but every time they tried to make plans,‭ ‬something seemed to get in the way.‭ ‬Like this conversation,‭ ‬she'd taken her week of vacation time to line up with what should have been the end of their tour.‭ ‬Now his tour schedule has changed due to having to reschedule a few shows after Joe had gotten pneumonia and lost his voice.

The problem‭? ‬she can't take back her vacation time,‭ ‬once it's in the books,‭ ‬she can't change it,‭ ‬so she'd be taking her vacation time while he was still gone,‭ ‬and she wouldn't be able to join him.‭ ‬Something about it being against the rules for her to be there for a whole week or some other nonsense.

‭"‬So basically I'm on vacation alone‭?" ‬Jennifer asked him,‭ ‬trying not to get upset.‭ ‬She was very upset,‭ ‬in fact, she was so upset that tears were pricking the corners of her eyes.

‭"‬Baby I am sorry,‭ ‬I know this isn't how we wanted this to go,‭ ‬but you can come to a day of it at least,‭ ‬if we had planned ahead we could have planned with management for you to be here for a whole week,‭" ‬he said sadly.

‭" ‬A day‭??? ‬You want me to fucking fly out there for a day‭?" ‬she asked him.‭ "It's better than nothing babe...‭" ‬he said,‭ "‬Please‭?! ‬I've been gone and haven't seen you in months...‭"

Jennifer's grip on the phone tightened,‭ ‬and she honestly didn't know if she should waste time flying out to see him for one night.‭ ‬Why couldn't management allow her to stay the week‭? 

"‬Couldn't you talk to your managers about me staying and tagging along‭? ‬It's YOUR tour.‭"

"You don't think I already have‭? ‬My tour but I still have rules to follow and people to listen to,‭" ‬he said.‭ 

"I don't understand why they can't allow me to just be there and hang out with you‭?" ‬she asked.‭

"Babe I will try again okay...‭ ‬I promise...‭ ‬I'll talk to someone as soon as our bus gets to the next stop...‭" ‬he promised.‭ 

"Alright,‭" ‬she said with a sigh,‭" ‬Call me back then so we can figure this out.‭ ‬I love.‭ ‬you.‭"

"I love you too,‭ ‬ill call you first thing after I talk to them...‭" ‬he reassured.‭
