They quickly got up as Maggie walked in on them sleeping together, both not quite sure how to act around each other after this. After having let themselves go in these feelings.

Meredith quickly left the room, going with Maggie to see what she wanted. They walked a few meters when she wanted to ask Maggie why she was looking for her, but instead found her smiling at her teasingly.

"Stop it! What did you need?" She tried to change the subject.

"Alex and Jo want to go have some drinks at Joe's tonight. Just wanted to know if you are coming. But maybe you have already other plans?" Her sister answered with an amused smile.

"Stop it, Maggie, please!"

"What?"

"You know what!" Meredith rolled her eyes at her sister.

"Okay... But you do know that we know about you two, right?"

"There is nothing to know about." She tried to make her point clear, obviously not convincing enough.

"Are you sure?"

"He's my resident."

"Your resident?" Maggie asked teasingly, raising an eyebrow while Alex came into the attendings' lounge.

"Who are we talking about?" He asked, joining their conversation.

"DeLuca." Maggie answered him with way too much enthusiasm for Meredith's liking.

"We're friends with the residents now?" Alex asked confused, and if she wasn't so confused by her own feelings right now, she would laugh at Alex expression.

"He isn't just any resident, he is her resident." Maggie answered Alex, with a big teasing smile on her face.

"We are friends." Meredith tried to interfere before this could go too far, but not succeeding.

"Friends who go to on-call rooms together?"

"We were just laying down together. Alex had slept in my bed before."

"That's not the same." Alex answered, turning towards her now.

"You are supposed to be on my side, Alex." Meredith complained.

"As your friend, I have to tell you that it's not the same, Mer."

She took a deep breath, staying silent. Deep down she knew that there might be some truth to their words, but maybe she wasn't ready for their words to be true  just yet. Maybe she wasn't ready for all those feelings to be true just yet.

"I can't." She answered after another moment, looking up at them again.

"Why? You know that you're allowed to be happy again." Maggie asked softly.

"Because... We can't... He has his reasons and I... have mine. Right now, I can't."

"Fine." Her sister gave her a small smile.

"So, are you coming to Joe's tonight?" Alex changed the subject, and that's why she loved him as her person, helping her out in this situation, making her get on other thoughts.

"Yeah. But... What exactly are we celebrating?"

"Nothing. But we haven't done this in a while."

"Because we grew up and don't get drunk on work nights anymore..."

"See, it's time that we do that again." Alex answered, making her chuckle before he added "DeLuca might be there as well." Just as she thought he would help her, he brought Andrew up again. But she knew that he knew when to stop, and for that she was thankful.

"I hate you, Alex." She said, while having to chuckle.

"Relax Mer, a lot of people will be there. And in case you really don't want to talk to him, you still have us." He gave her a smile.

"Yeah, I see how much you are helping right now." She couldn't stay seriously mad at them for long, having to smile.
