You're a...Ghoul?

The conversation with Mr. Yoshimura was very inciteful. He told me about how there was a possibility, but that it was extremely rare. He told me everything that I would need to know. Like how Kou may start to chase after the flesh that clings to mortal's bodies. Or how he might later in life develop a kagune of his own.

Soon though, when I conversation was done as well as the twins were done eating (with Kou having a little bit too). Somehow, amidst of all this, I'm still in shocked....but at the same time, completely comfortable and relaxed. Like somehow along the way I had always known that this would eventually happen to me.

Now there's just one thing that I have to do: keep the ghoul side of truth away from everyone especially from my room mate, Nishiki, our best friend, Kimi, and from my little brother, Kaneki. It's hard, especially when they are part or your nearly every day lives.

With Kimi, she loves to just take the kids out and spend time with them, especially when I'm busy. Kind of how we're doing now. Earlier, after our run to at Anteiku, Kimi had wanted to take the kids out with her, make it a shopping day and grab lunch. Of course, out of habit, I said yes. Though I was cautious and actually decided to go with her for once. Through that day, we had took the kids to the toy story, got them some clothes, and even stopped and got some lunch.

Now, we were just getting back to my apartment. We all slip off our shoes and leave them by the doorway. I smiles over at the brunette girl. "Nishiki should be getting home soon," I tell her. She nods her head slightly.

"How about I cook dinner tonight?" She offers. I shake my head slightly at that.

"But you're our guest Kimi," I got to debate with the human girl. She shakes her head slightly.

"I'm cooking," she says with a firm attitude. I sigh slightly. When she made her mind up about something, it was next to impossible to steer her away from it.

"Okay, well, I'm going to go change and I'll be right back," I tell Kimi. Kimi smiles widely as she nods her head. I set Kou on the floor as the twins sit down playing with my son. I smile for a moment, taking a mental picture. Something this simple, this pure....why would anyone want to take it from us....from them?

I go to my room and get change into something more comfy and appropriate for the house. It consists of sweat pants, a tank top, and a sweat shirt.

After changing, it was habit to check up on the kids. That's how I found myself watching the twins and Kou playing happily. Hearing that laughter and babbling was enough to just make me wish it would never end. But as all good things start, they must come to an end.

"Kiyoshi, what is up?" I hear my brunette friend say. My eyes glance towards the voice, seeing Kimi talking while stirring something in a pot. A light tug is what pulls me from watching my friend. Looking down, I see him. Kou was pulling himself up again.

Honestly, I'm a little worried since he hasn't really walked on his own. When I told Kimi this a few months ago, she assured me that he would walk on his own, probably when he really wanted to go somewhere. It's the same with his speech. He babbles a lot and almost gets to saying words, but he never really does.
