Kiyoshi Kaneki was living his best life....or so he thought.
Everything changes when his brother gets into an accident. He life is soon engulfed in the world of ghouls...but that's not even the worse.
He's only Ken's half-brother.
And he's not even...
I had manage to get Hinami to take a nap, try and save her strength as best as she could. "Hinami!" Touka's voice is what gets me to my feet, racing to the meeting room, where I had let the girl sleep in peace. When I got there, her notebook with drawings has torn out pages while the window was open.
"Where is she," I ask. Hell, I could even hear the panic in my own voice. How am I no suppose to? "Please tell me that this room and her disappearing is just a coincidence," I add. I glance over and see Kaneki shaking his head slightly. I slowly fall to my knees. Hinami was my responsibility, I was suppose to be watching her today.
"We'll get her back," Kaneki says to me. I glance up at my brother.
"How?" I mutter out.
"Just trust Touka and I," he says to me while rubbing my back. I slowly nod my head slightly at that. Soon I heard footsteps and turned my head to see Nishiki.
"What's wrong?" Nishiki ask looking at me.
"I...Hinami...she just left," I say looking at him. He looks at me before his eyes widen for a moment. He kneels towards my height as he slowly cups my face.
"She's going to be fine, relax," he says. I slowly nod my head slightly before slowly leaning into his shoulder. I felt my mate's arms wrap around me. I let out a breath that I didn't even know I was holding.
"We should get going," Kaneki's voice rings out. I slowly nod my head, still staying with Nishiki. Soon, I hear two sets of feet leaving the room.
I bury my face further, just needing to know that things were gonna be alright. I can't loose Hinami too. I would have went to, but I have three other kids to help raise. But...
"Hey, stop, you're over thinking things again," Nishiki says as he slowly helps me to stand up before walking with me over towards the couch. I shake my head slightly.
"But....what if something like what happened to...." I bit on my bottom lip, how could I finish my sentence.
"She won't end up like her, I promise," Nishiki says as he runs his hands through my hair. I glance up looking at him, giving him a mini-smile.
May be he was right, may be things would work out in the end. I slowly wrap my arms around him, in a thankful manner. That's when I heard it, the high pitch painful scream, like a gun shot going off.
I cling to Nishiki. The wince that reaches my ears causes me to stop. I glance up and look at Nishiki before it hits me, the metallic scent. I whimper. "Nishiki," I say looking up at him. I hadn't meant to hurt him, especially of all people.
"It's not that deep," Nishiki tells before slowly moving his shoulder so I could look. I frown slightly. They were a little deep, but I wouldn't tell him that, especially when he was trying to make me feel better when I lost control.

He looks down at me. "You heard something, didn't you?" He asks once I was mostly calm down. I slowly nod my head.
"Hinami, her screams," I say, feeling the tears trying to prickle at the back of my eyes. He nods his head slightly before pulling me towards his chest. I hug him close. The tears slowly start rolling down my chest.
