I Wouldn't Change A Thing

The News

After everyone finish with eating, having their coffee, we decide to all settle in the living room. I glance up and Nishiki as my head was laying on his shoulder. Even though his eyes were settle on the television, I notice that he's thinking from the far away look in his eyes. "Nishiki, everything okay?" I whispers looking up at him. He slowly nods his head for a moment.

"Yeah," he says. But that felt like a lie. A ringing pulls my attention. I see Nishiki's lighting up. He grabs it for a moment before looking at me. "Will you be okay for a few hours?" He whisper. I frown looking up at Nishiki.

"Where are you going?" I ask.

"I have to handle some business," Nishiki says. The look in his eyes says that it was really important. I sigh slightly before leaving a kiss on his cheek.

"Be back soon." I says. He nods his head slightly before leaving a quick kiss at my temple. I sigh slightly. The sour feeling coming back to my gut.

I glance over looking at the kids smiling as they were watching a movie that Masaru had picked out just a few minutes earlier. We continue to watch the movie....well more like them. I can't really focus with how fast Nishiki left and then this instinct telling me something bad is gonna happen.

Soon, a couple an hour goes by and it was time to put the kids to bed. I got them all settled down and they were laying down in my room.

Meanwhile, I race towards the living turning the television towards the news.

"The CCG Head Office is cordoning off the 20th Ward as we speak...." Why are they cordoning off the 20th Ward? What possible has happens? "...targeting a certain coffee shop...." My eyes widen. They can't mean that they actually found out about Anteiku, can it? "...moving in today..." Nishiki...left because he.....he knew.

I pull my knees to my chest, a thousand things rushing through my mind. My body jumps when a chime sounds in the living room. I see my phone lit up. I have a text message from....Hide?

Kiyoshi, if you know where Kaneki is, please tell him to stay away from Anteiku. They're going to do a ghoul sweep, stay away!

My eyes widen. Hide....he knew Kaneki was a ghoul? Flashing lights catch my attention as I look towards the screen.

"Tensions are at an all high in the 20th Ward, where a large-scale police force has condoned off the area. The CCG reported the civilian evacuation was completed ahead of schedule, and may move forward with the operation as early as this evening. We'll have more as the situation develops," the news woman says.

I watch the screen go a dark color, ignoring what they were saying about the weather. More importantly, I focus on the people that we're probably gonna loose. Mr. Yoshimura. Enji. Irimi.

My chest starts to hurt. I clench my shirt, trying to breathe. What if....what if Nishiki decides to get in the mix of everything and what if he ends up just like them?

Hot salty tears start rolling down my face. I can't loose him...especially with loosing half of them at Anteiku. I glance at the screen, watching it flash over the fighting between the three of them, in separate locations, and the CCG investigators.

My hands start to shake again. Me being so paranoid, I didn't even sense someone walk into my apartment. A warm hand touches my shoulder. I go to scream, but another warm hand presses over my mouth. My body squirms, trying to get free of this hold.

"Hey, hey, it's just me," the voice calmly says. They remove their hands from me. Before I can think of what I'm doing, I quickly turn around and jump into the arms of the person. My arms wrapping around their neck while my legs wrapping around their waist. I bury in my face into their shoulder...more like their collar bone.
