A Cold Day

Today had stated when I had walked Nishiki to work, something simply and easy. It was just him and I since I was going to spend the day back at the apartment with the kids. Who I got Kimi to watch until I could get back. And that's kind of how I spent the day: with the kids. We made crafts, lunch. The kids even wanted to make a pillow fort and watch movies.

But the closer it got to being dark, I asked Kimi to watch them to go and meet Nishiki before he got off for work.

As I near the door, I hear the familiar voice. "Man, this place was packed all day; I've never worked so hard in my life," Nishiki's voice rings out.

I smile upon hearing that before opening the door and walking in. I glance over at my right, seeing Nishiki sitting down. I smile and go over towards him. His eyes glance up smiling at me. He pulls me close. I run my fingers through his hair. He seems to relax into my chest.

They must have had an abundance of customers today cause Nishiki's rarely like this. His nose brushes into the crook of my neck. I laugh lightly at that. He slowly pulls away before smiling up at me. Slowly, I lean down and gently kiss his lips for a moment. I slowly move to side down beside him as he glances over at the bar.

Over there behind the bar is Enji and Irimi cleaning plates and cups. Standing between the two ghouls is Hinami. Standing in front is a new girl. I think I've heard Nishiki mention her name once or twice.

"Huh, congratulations Roma," Nishiki voices. I glance over at him before turning back over towards the ones at the bar.

"Huh?" The new girl, Roma, says looking back over at us.

"This is the first time you've made it through your entire shift without breaking any dishes," Nishiki comments. I hear a giggle coming from someone. Turning, it's the Roma girl.

"Almost!" she replies, holding up two fingers. "I broke two!"

"Aw well, I say that's still pretty good considering how ridiculously busy we were," Nishiki says. I glance over seeing his tie loosen around his neck along with the first button unbutton. My eyes move towards the girl, hearing a gasp.

There she was standing, a shock expression plastering her face. She even steps back a few feet. "Whoa, did you just give ma complement?" She says, her eyes wide. She moves her arms to cross over her chest. "But you're never this nice to me. You're not trying to flirt with me, are you?" she adds.

"Keep dreamin'," Nishikis retorts. A low growl leaves my lips. I watch the girl's eyes widen before feeling Nishiki taking my hand, trying to calm me down. It always pisses me off when someone says anything like that.

"Damn, I say one nice thing to you and it goes straight to that big ol' head of yours!" Nishiki comments. I laugh lightly at that. I slowly move my hand to hold his hand.

I slowly lean over, placing a sweet and soft kiss to his cheek. I watch as he turns a rosy color in his cheeks. "Don't do that," he says, even though the blush is becoming a darker shade.

"Don't do what?" I whisper towards him, mustering the best innocent face I could. It was always funny to see his reactions when I try to act like I don't know what he's talking about.

"You know what," he whispers back to me, a slow smirk etching into his facial features. I smile slightly and lightly shrug before something catches my attention.

"Anteiku's secret weapon," is what I manage to catch from Enji's conversation.

"I didn't know that we had a secret weapon," Hinami comments. I didn't either.

"So who is it?" Touka asks, saying the question that was on everyone's minds.

"Mm?" Nishiki mumbles beside me.
