Y/N looked at Professor Snape as though he was caught doing something he shouldn't have. "Sorry Professor, I didn't know that I was disturbing anyone."
"There's nothing to apologize for, but you seem to be troubled about something." Snape said. "It's just that Black is putting everyone here on edge and I feel like I can't do anything about it." Y/N said.
"I see, you are concerned for your classmates. You should know that Black is dangerous. Your classmates fear him for it, and yet you don't." "He's just a man, cut him and he bleeds like anyone else."
"True, and he doesn't know what you are capable of, but he is more experienced with magic. You should beware of him." "Unless he stole a wand or can use wandless magic, I can get him."
"Don't underestimate him. You don't know what he's capable of, there is a difference between bravery and stupidity." "I can't sit here and do nothing." "That is not what I am saying. What I am saying is that shouldn't look for him, but prepare for him."
This got Y/N thinking. Snape left, feeling that he made his point clear. While he knew Harry won't listen to him, Y/N was more likely to do so, especially when it comes to helping his classmates.
Y/N decided to look into some time studying later. Right now was time for bed.
The next day, the fat lady was replaced by a knight named Sir Cadogan. Y/N often accepted the duels and would learn more about swordsmanship from him.
He also changed the password every week, forcing Neville to create a list. He also wasn't taken seriously by the students, who thought he was mad.
Professor Lupin's class was told that they were getting a substitute teacher.
Professor Snape came in and began closing the windows and brought down a screen.
"Turn to page 394." He said. Everyone began doing so. "Excuse me, sir, but where is Professor Lupin?" Harry asked.
"That isn't your concern, is it Potter? Suffice to say that your professor is not able to teach at this point in time. Turn to page 394." Professor Snape said as he uses his wand to turn on a projector.
He then used it again to get Ron's book to the correct page. "Werewolves?" Ron asked.
Y/N was excited. He had been studying werewolves ever since he could read and had written many pages on the subject once he learned to write.
"But sir, we've just began studying mudcaps and hickey pugs. We're not supposed to be going into nocturnal beasts for weeks." Hermione said.
"Quiet. Now, which one of you can tell me the difference between an animagus and a werewolf?" Hermione and Y/N shot their hands up, Y/N with more enthusiasm. "Mr. Potter." Snape said.
"The ability to choose when they can change. An animagus has the ability to choose when they become an animal. A werewolf doesn't have that luxury. While an animagus can maintain their mind, a werewolf doesn't have the same ability, their mind becomes much more animalistic and dangerous the more they change. They may even go as far as to attack the others around them." Y/N said.
"Correct, impressive actually. Mr. Potter seems to have been studying on the subject. As a result, all of you should be taking notes on what he just said." Snape said.
"Now Mr. Potter seems to be an expert on the werewolf, but as an antidote to your ignorance, and on my desk by Monday morning, two rolls of parchment on the werewolf with a particular focus on recognizing it." Professor Snape said.
"But sir, it's quidditch tomorrow." Harry said. "Then I suggest that you take extra care, Mr. Potter. Loss of limb will not excuse it. Page 394." Snape said.
Professor Snape continued his lesson on the werewolf for the rest of the class.
The quidditch game was hit with rain and the Gryffindor and Hufflepuff houses were playing hard.
Normally, Gryffindor would play Slytherin, but Marcus Flint told everyone that he wanted his seeker to be rested since he was the youngest on their team.
Harry and the new Hufflepuff seeker named Cedric Diggory were chasing after the snitch and the rest of the players were playing in the dangerous weather.
Players were flying into each other due to brooms on fire or being barely able to see.
Cedric was close to getting the snitch, but was electrocuted by a bolt of lightning hitting the snitch and the lightning traveling to him.
Harry was coming close to the snitch, but was distracted by an image of the grim in the clouds. The snitch came back into Harry's attention and he was attempting to catch it.
He gave chase only to see dementors flying around him. Harry evaded them as best as he could, only for one of them to suck the happiness from him and causing him to fall from the sky.
Ginny began to freak out and Y/N knew why. He jumped in the air after Harry and caught him in mid air.
He then summoned Neville's whip sword to wrap it around a nearby wooden beam. Y/N pulled on the sword and landed safely on the ground.
Hermione, Ginny, and Ron were by his side. The dementors arrived on the scene, but Dumbledore used the same spell as Lupin did on the train.
Y/N had his brother in hand and knew he was safe. "Mr. Potter, would you kindly take your brother to the hospital wing?" Professor Dumbledore said. Y/N nodded and took Harry to get him help.
Harry woke up to the sound of the other Gryffindors. "How you doing, Harry?" Y/N asked. "Oh, brilliant." Harry said. "You gave us a right good scare there, mate." George said.
"What happened?" Harry asked. "Well, you fell off your broom." Ron said. "I meant the match, who won?" Harry asked. "Hufflepuff did. Cedric caught the snitch at the same time Y/N caught you. Noone blamed you. Everyone blamed the dementors." Ginny said.
"There's something else that you should know, Harry. When you fell, your broom blew into the Whomping Willow." Ron said. He then showed Harry the remnants of his broomstick. "Professor Mcgonagall had me get it. Sorry Harry." Y/N said. "Don't worry about it. I'm sure you did what you could." Harry said.
Ginny placed a gentle hand on Harry's shoulder and promised him a new broom so he can play quidditch again.
Harry was checked out of the hospital wing, so he, Ginny, and Y/N went outside for some fresh air. Lupin was out with them.
"I'm sorry to hear about your broomstick, Harry. Is there any chance to fix it?" Lupin asked. "No, Ron already asked." Ginny said. "Sir, why do the dementors affect me, more than anyone else?" Harry asked.
"Because dementors are some of the foulest creatures in the world. They feed on every good memory, every happy moment until a person is left with nothing but their worst memories. You and Y/N are not weak. The dementors like you two because their are true horrors in your past, that your classmates can scarcely imagine. Neither of you have anything to be ashamed of." Lupin said.
"Ginny and I are scared, Professor." Harry said. "Hermione is too." Y/N said. "Well I would consider you fools if you weren't. Y/N is a different matter, I don't know what to think of him." Lupin said. "Can you teach us how to fight them?" Harry asked. "Like the one on the train." Ginny said.
"There was only one, but seeing as the dementors have taken a liking to you four, then I should teach you, but after the holidays. Right now, I need to rest." Lupin said. The four arrived on a hill, where Hedwig was there waiting for them.
Once the four returned to the castle before long, Y/N gave Harry a vial. "This is a second bit of the animagus potion I made, drink it during a storm and see what you become." He said. Harry nodded.
A storm hit hard a couple of weeks later and Harry performed the Animagus ritual himself.
