"What do you mean? It's hard being such a popular trope you know~."
—————
"Lou, this is your first teacher, Maghrebi Mint or just mint for short. You will focus on immunity when in this class, work hard." As the tall, grey haired gentleman gestured over to the person behind him, Lou was confused.
Immunity? Did they mean... Instantly his face paled. "Don't worry kid, when we see you can't handle it anymore we'll give you the antidote right away~." The second ranked put her arm around Lou shoulder as if they were close buddies even though they met just a few days ago.
"We are very understaffed and everyone is busy, so I hope you don't waste our time and effort." The grey gentleman, tilted his hat as he glanced at Lou. As he did so, Lou felt a chill run down his spine.
For sure, if he failed, they would send him to the trash heap. He can't trust a word that woman said, after all, she was a noble and the boss around here. If he failed her expectations, what in gods name would she do to him?
Looking at the overthinking boy, the second ranked pouted, "Look at what you did to him Grey! Now he looks like he's contemplating all his life decisions, do you want the boss to get angry with you!?"
"Do not speak so casually of the Madam, Masala. I am well aware that the Madam picked him personally, that is why my expectations for him are so high, don't go putting all the blame on me for no reason." With a s scolding tone and slightly annoyed expression, Grey began to bickered with Masala.
Sweat dropping, Lou looked at the scene. We're these two really underground workers? "You really shouldn't think that, Lou." Jumping at the voice that behind him, Lou turned around tone faced with another worker, number four if he remembered correctly.
"They may not look it, but they are one and two for a reason, the boss has a really good eye for people with talent and has never let us down. So, we hope that she did the same for you."
"Aren't you just stating the obvious Jin? Of course we want him to succeed on boss's behalf, but we all have our own reason for wanting him to get somewhere in the top 10." Another ranked member said while leaning on the table with their hands outstretched.
'Are these people really that busy?' Didn't Earl Grey say they were understaffed? So, why are the 10 best here?
"We're here because the boss ordered for us to complete our jobs immediately and come straight here, that's why some of the others look like they're dying." Jin Xuan pointed to the other side of the table and the conference room in general, some indeed looked like they were dying from exhaustion.
'Is he reading my mind????'
(Lou, at this moment)

"I'm not particularly reading your mind, but more like your expressions, I learned of it from the boss when she first took me in." Jin Xuan stated it like it was a fact that he could read Lou's thoughts so normally. Would he have to learn this skill too?
