Let's start first with her relatives on her dad side :: her dad is the middle child and have 2 older sisters , 2 younger brothers . A trivia for her family is that she's the one and only girl or what you call in Filipino "unica hija" in her family because all her 1st and 2nd cousins purely consists of men on her dad side. While on her mom side, she have 2 older female cousins (2nd cousin). Although, she does have female distant cousin, she isn't close with her distant cousins as she rarely see them unlike her first and second cousins. Her mom is the 5th child out of the 6 siblings. You could say kala was born in a big family.

So you can already imagine how protective they all are towards her for the fact that she's the only girl. Even her only younger cousins who are twins is also protective of her because to her cousins and brothers, no one can hurt our princess or else they'll get the taste of their own medicine.

Park Seonghwa, a member of ateez is her older cousin from her dad side. He's the son of her dad's younger brother. When they were preparing to debut, fans have already speculated about them being related to each other but she didn't say anything till they had their first year debut anniversary.

The two have released a statement through KQ and HYBE then did a live together the next day to Hangout with fans and at the same time explain why they don't want to tell anyone about their relation till that time.

In all honesty, her cousin doesn't mind but kala does so she didn't allowed seonghwa to confirm anything until it caused a buzz to the entertainment world and fans of both artists wanting to get the confirmation whether or not are they related.

Her side is that she doesn't want her cousin to be known or titled as "Kala's cousin or Kala and BTS Jimin's cousin" because that isn't really a pleasant thing to go by on the long run and instead, she wants him to be known for his talent and hard work, not for him being related to BTS Jimin and Kala. The fans quickly apologized for causing a buzz and understand where kala is coming from.

The pair is called as angels sent from heaven due to their sweet personality. If seonghwa's nickname is toothless, Atiny Fans gave her the Nickname "Light Fury" from How to train your dragon. The two shares quite a resemblance which isn't a surprise when the two revealed that they're cousins.
