No more tears. No smiles but no more tears. Riley's body as stopped. She is in mission mode. She has been running all over the world looking for a solution to bring the people back, but also taking out any Hydra camps she can find. Nat and Steve have not been able to track her until after finding a burning Hydra camp.
"Rhodey, any news?" Steve asks.
"None. It's like she doesn't exist."
"She is alive. She has to be. Who else would just be attacking Hydra in this manner?" Nat says.
"Why is she attacking Hydra?" Carol asks. "Are they a part of Thanos' team?"
"No." Steve answers. "Hydra is an organization built of death but they aren't working with Thanos. I fought them back during the war in the 40s."
"She is punishing them for all the pain the caused." Nat says. "They also tortured someone special to her. Weaponized him."
"And now that her world is gone--" Carol starts before being interrupted.
"Riley isn't who she used to be. She fought for a long time to keep herself sane while trying to save those that faded away. She fought until she lost who she was, her entire being faded away differently than the others." Rhodey jumps in. "I have known her since she was a little girl. I have watched her go from the small, meek child to a criminal in her own right, to an Avenger. Now, she's lost everything meaningful, including herself."
"We need to find her before it's too late." Nat says, pacing the room. "We are leaving her to dig her own grave."
"We are looking, Nat." Rhodey fights back. "She has a long history of being off grid. This is nothing new. She is just really good at it."
"Do you know any of her old contacts?" Steve asks, growing worried with each second of Nat's panic.
"No. Never knew any of them. Just that she got herself in real deep. We thought she would die young. Things changed for her in the moment she watched the news and thought Tony died and when Tony announced he was Iron Man, she decided she would use her skills to help him. She is strong, calculated. She will do whatever it will take to do what she set out to do." The computer system at the compound beeps. "What is it?"
"Something in Madripoor. Many bad guys that have no known association to Hydra, though fit the bill of them, were all found beaten but alive." Nat announces. "International agents were dispatched to take custody. A note was left saying, 'I collected your garbage. You're welcome.'"
"Could that be Riley?" Steve asks. Nat shrugs her shoulders.
"Maybe. I don't know."
"It's not like her to slip up." Rhodey states.
"I'll get some guys to check it out." Steve states, reaching for his cell.
