Riley's POV

As we wait for Steve to show up, Nat and I just sit as still as possible watching each other, not speaking a word. We each point a gun at the other. After a couple of minutes, Nat decides to speak up.

"как новые волосы (Like the new hair.)." She nods in my direction. My previously strawberry blonde hair that she is used to was gone. Now in it's place was long, wavy jet black hair with dark, almost blood red peek a boo streaks on the underneath. I chuckle at her discomfort she thinks she is hiding from me.

"Лесть ведет тебя везде и никуда, Наталья. (Flattery gets you everywhere and nowhere, Natalia.)." I respond in Russian. I look in the direction Steve should be walking from. "What's taking Mr. America so long?"

"He should be here any minute, Riley." I look at Nat to see her eyes go from wide open to a tight squint line. "What have you been doing?"

"Eh, eh, eh." I smile, rising to my feet. "All in good time, love." I sigh as I look around. "You haven't changed much around here."

"Nothing has changed." She replies. "Everything is the same as when you left." I turn to look at her, my right index finger pointing in her direction.

"Not everything." Her hair was also different. Instead of the short blonde she was last, her hair has also grown out, red hair that's fades into blonde. "Looks good." Silence fell over us again. Footsteps pounded through the compound as I smile at Nat. "Mister Morals is home!" I sing just as Steve steps into view. His eyes hard on me. "What's the matter, Cap? Don't you recognize me?" I laugh.

"Riley?" His voice soft, confusion spread across his old yet young face.

"Howdy, soldier." I smile a flirtatious smile. I twirl a section of hair around my finger and bat my eyelashes. "You should definitely come storm my beach." I wink.

"Whoa..." Steve backs away.

"Riley?!" Nat freaks in unison with Steve.

"What's wrong with her?" Steve asks in Nat's direction. I walk up to him. He looks down at me, trying to read my face. I pout up at him as my right hand finds a place at the base of his neck. Swiftly and harshly I pull Steve down to me and kiss his lips. His hands find my waist but to push me back. I bit his bottom lip before allowing him to do so. I lick my lips as I chuckle.

"Riley..." Nat starts. "What is going on? Why are you here?"

"I can't come see my friends who I love and miss so very much?" I smirk. I roll my eyes. "Thought you'd be happy to see me. Guess I was wrong."

"This isn't you." Steve says.

"Isn't it, though? The poor pathetic little girl who is always alone and heartbroken. I'm not meant to have a happy life." I start counting on my fingers. "My dad didn't want me. I was given up to horrible people who then gave me to others pretending to run a boarding school. My dad disowned me. Thanos took away the only person who cared for me, loved me. The one person I loved more in this world." I take a deep breath to stop the pending break down. "I left so I wouldn't lose the only few friends I had remaining."
