Monty knocked on Faith's door politely, not sure if she had woken up from her resting sleep after the panic attack she had. He half-opened the door, being as quiet as possible. Raven stayed with her for the last hour; putting her to sleep was not easy at all. Faith was breathing in fear for the past hour, and Raven finally managed to get her friend to sleep.
Monty apologized in advance. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt." He heaved a breath, scooting closer to her forehead and leaving a longing kiss. His little thoughtful action was made from his desire to take all the pain and suffering from the minefield inside her head and create a new peaceful environment.
He backed away from them slightly, never letting her passed-out figure off his brown eyes locked on like magnets. Waking Faith was the last goal he had in mind.
Raven had a lot of pressure over her shoulders after finding out about the radiation wave. She had to rethink the problem and think of possible solutions to save everyone from the radiation. Raven was strong and kept her calm, but when Faith broke down in front of her eyes. She made a promise to herself. She had to find a way to keep everyone alive and give them hope and strength to keep fighting. To keep breathing, in this rightfully beautiful planet Earth, which was, once again, trying to eliminate the human race.
"I should probably go." He didn't dare to step away from Faith when he heard her murmuring.
"Don't go." She sniffled, holding into his hand tightly. She was still asleep but found her way to wrap her fingers around Monty's wrist. Raven smiled, patting the boy on the shoulder.
"Stay. I have to analyze the information we collected. We have a death sentence coming towards us, but we'll find a solution."
The dark-haired boy called her name weakly, Raven turning around to face him. "What is it?"
"How bad was it?" He was referring to Faith's episode. It was tearing his heart apart. He felt like he couldn't do anything to help her. Words weren't enough to describe the scene.
"Pretty bad. It's nothing she can't face, Monty. Faith is strong, and she'll be okay since she has you."
Faith vacantly stared at the ceiling, turning her back to the two while listening to their conversation. She hated looking so vulnerable, weak, and pitiful in front of her friends. She blinked distastefully when the distinctive sound of the door closing reached her ears. Footsteps and people reaching the hallways were heard not long before.
Faith uncovered the blanket off her body and stood on her feet. "They're back!" She abruptly grabbed her unlaced boots, abstractly dropping some books on the blackish steel Arkadia's floor, and tied her hair up in a messy long ponytail. "Let's go."
Monty left low allowable curses to escape his mouth, picking up the books and throwing them on the table and briskly following after the on-fire girl. The speed this girl had was always troubling him. How could she sneak around with ease, and why no one could ever hold her back?
