Octavia smirked and delivered a glance back to Faith. That was her signal. They were already moving the prisoners on their way, and they were ready. Pike would never expect that."They left. Quick get them in here. Now!" Faith scream-whispered, startling the three chained men. Sinclair and Lincoln seemed surprised, but Kane knew Faith and the others would plan something to get them out of Arkadia.
Faith hesitated to hide under the floor too, it was too tight, and they were already four people in there. "There's no enough space. I'll just run fast before they come!"
Octavia shook her head, disapproving of her idea. Then she heard footsteps coming closer. "There's no time. Quick!" she grabbed the girl by the wrist and, just in time, closed the exit above their heads.
The hole's surroundings trembled with every footstep the guards made, but nothing could give away their hidden spot. It all went according to the plan.
"We did what they wanted us to do. That won't happen again." The Chancellor made a warning, walking away from the small room to find the missing prisoners.
They waited for five seconds; Octavia slowly dragged the floor piece to the side, taking a peek. "All clear," she announced and tossed the guns out of the hole. Faith followed not long after, her tint body moving fast out of the incredibly small spot.
She could feel her heart beating like a drum in her chest. Octavia threw her the key after releasing Kane's hands. She grabbed it, and helped Sinclair out of his chains.
"Thank you." He thanked the girl for risking her own safety and life to save them.
"Don't even mention it." Faith knew how important Sinclair was.
She remembered Raven coming back from her every class and always bragging about the new stuff Sinclair taught her in Physics class. She was his favorite student. He was also the reason Monty was an ace in engineering. That all made her respect the older much more than he could ever think.
Miller and Abby joined immediately, but Harper signaled. "This wasn't on the plan. We used their frequencies so they can hear us. " Octavia answered to Harper, panicking.
"Go ahead!"
"Stay where you are. The exit is not clear." Her voice echoed the walkie-talkie.
"How many guards did he get exactly?" Faith made a rhetorical question, earning some fading nods.
They were one minute away from being screwed. The guards were too many, and they couldn't risk getting out of the room.
Amsu, who was guarding the door along with Brian, looked back at Faith dutiful. Faith closed her eyes, praying. She didn't know what she was praying for, only that they had to make it out alive for everyone else to live.
