CHAPTER SIX
LIAM'S ANCHORSilence. Deadly silence filled the room when everyone took notice of the chimera that entered after the True Alpha. Thea stood with her back against the wall as she watched everyone looking back at her.
Stiles was finally the first to move and he stood up from where he was sat next to Lydia and he started towards the stairs. Thea was prepared to leave until the human looked back at her over his shoulder and he tilted his head in the direction he was going. She understood the silent command and she pushed off of the wall and followed Stiles up the stairs.
Stiles shut the door when they got inside Scott's bedroom, and Thea could hear the others downstairs finally start speaking again, but she kept her attention on the human who'd started pacing around the room. Thea's leg started bouncing as she leaned back into the wall as she watched Stiles.
He finally turned to her, seeming to get his thoughts of what he warned to say under control; and she just stood there, waiting to hear whatever he'd have to say to her.
"You're Liam's anchor."
That wasn't at all what Thea was expecting to hear from Stiles. She'd been imagining all sorts of scenarios, even to the extreme of Stiles threatening her with being sent back to hell.
"What?" She asked, and was annoyed with herself that she'd couldn't keep her blank mask up. Her voice shook as she spoke and her fight or flight response was starting to rear its head.
"You're Liam's anchor." Stiles repeated, watching Thea intently.
Run.
Leave.
All of Thea's instincts were urging her to get out of there quickly, and she tried, but Stiles seemed to read her mind. He seemed hesitant, but he grabbed her arm before she could open the door to Scott's bedroom.
"What do you want, Stiles?" She asked, losing all her will to fight anymore, just wanting to get this conversation over with.
"I just wanna know how this happened." Stiles said, letting her go of her arm and stepping back away from her. "I mean last time I was here you weren't all best buddies with Liam."
"And I'm still not now. So I don't what you think is going on, but you've clearly made a mistake." Thea said sharply.
"He seems to think you've changed." Stiles stressed. "That you're not the same murdering sociopath that you were."
"Psychopath." She whispered bitterly.
"What?" Stiles looked at her as if she'd lost her mind, which she seriously thought she might've if she was joking about her brain stability.
"If you're going to insult me, Stiles, at least use the right word." She said, feeling a wicked smirk stretch on her face. "If I was a sociopath, then it wouldn't have been just you that didn't trust me before."
"You're not even going to disagree?"
"I don't know what you want me to say." She admitted.
"Tell me how you've somehow convinced Liam that you're suddenly good." Stiles demanded, throwing a hand through his hair in frustration. "Tell me how you manipulated him again. Just like before when you nearly turned him into a killer. But now he's saying that you managed to stop him from killing."
"I don't know what he's told you but I haven't tried to convince him that I'm good or anything of the sort. Why would I even do that?" She asked rhetorically. "We all know it's not true. And, yes, Stiles, I'm a good liar. But in what universe does it make sense for me to do that. None of you should trust me, and if Liam for some reason does, then you need to talk to him about that and see what's the matter with him."
