CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR
MATCHMAKING GONE RIGHT

Thea ran from the Dunbar house as soon as Liam had let go of her.

"Thea!"

She ignored him calling after her, not stopping for anything. She jumped in her truck and drove back to her current home.

"Scott." She called as she walked inside. "I need help."

Scott came barrelling down the stairs with Stiles, Malia and Lydia following the two boys at a slower pace.

"What— what happened?" Scott asked, looking around as if he was expecting to see a hunter with her or something.

"Um... I don't know." Thea said, a bit embarrassed for her reaction now. "Liam... he..."

"What's that on your neck?" Malia asked, a smirk on her face.

Thea didn't know what she was talking about and it must've shown on her face. Lydia led her over to the mirror in the living room and pushed Thea's hair aside so she could see the beginning of a hickey.

Stiles looked ecstatic. "Are you two together?"

Thea scoffed. "Don't be stupid. It was just his left over adrenaline from the fight."

Stiles rolled his eyes. "Fine, we'll go along with that theory for the time being."

"Thank you." Thea said, leaving them all downstairs as she walked up to her room where Alec was waiting for her. "Don't talk."

The beta nodded easily, as Thea sat next to him. He put a movie on and they just sat there. She couldn't understand why Alec seemed to like her presence, but he'd just always get more relaxed whenever Thea was around.

Alec did a good job of not speaking for a whole five minutes before he started yammering on about Nolan. How Thea found herself listening to both boys constantly talking about the other she had no idea.

Liam called Mason as soon as he heard Thea's truck disappear into the distance.

What was I thinking?

Mason answered almost instantly and he managed to understand something in Liam's jumbled statement and he arrived shortly after.

Liam had been sat on his bed with his head in his hands when he heard Mason come in. He looked up at his best friend with sad eyes.

"What happened now?" Mason asked softly. "I heard something about Thea and running... she hasn't left again, right? Corey and Nolan and now Alec will be furious if that's the case."

Liam sighed loudly. "She probably will now." He said. "I've traumatised her."

Mason looked like he aged five years in that moment. "What could you have possibly done now, Liam? Seriously? Has Thea hit you in the head one too many times and now you're just... just—"

Mason couldn't even finish his sentence and Liam felt like a child being scalded by their parents.

"How have you traumatised Thea?" Mason asked calmly when Liam stayed silent.
